Tōhi Gin Tasting Room & Thai Eatery — Restaurant in Martinborough Community

When we arrived the man behind the desk kept his head down and ignored us. The concept is a little confusing as when you step inside, the room is surrounded by what appears to be a self-serve Gin dispenser, I thought the idea is that I could pick my own gins which was the main appeal, but sat down and they make you pick from a set of three pre-selected 20ml gins which is $39. I asked if I was able to pick my own, but that would be extra, $45. So I ended up going with one of their sets. I'm not sure I got full pours especially the Imagination, I got half the amount my husband got. Also meat found in our veggie mains, when we quietly mentioned this to the waiter he did not respond to this at all. A shame I really wanted to like this place, it has everything...

What a hidden Gem. A Great fantastic restaurant. You would possibly walk past this place and go to the other eateries believing they were better. Bur wait and STOP, GO IN, HAVE AN AMAZING MEAL. MAN THE CHEF IS JUST AMAZING, FRESH N TASTY MEALS, BRILLIANT FLAVOURS AND THE PREPARATION WAS TOP NOTCH. This is all alinging with the GIn cocktails that they are famous for or should be. An amazing gin collection with a multitude of drinks options. What a lovely place that Martinborough is, a hidden gem in the North Island. And just a quick trip from Wellington. This place is just full of NZ History. Just stop,look, listen and smell the city life won't away as you relax and enjoy this quaint...

If you love gin or you’re gin-curious, make your way to this gem in Martinborough. 32 gins to try and nearly all from NZ (one from Goa). With an overwhelming number of options, we opted for a flight. You can try 3 gins and compare the flavours neat, with ice and with tonic. Food was beautiful. Curries and pad Thai that looked great and tasted even better. I tried the pad Thai and loved that it was lighter and less greasy than most pad thais. The service was down to earth and jovial, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
