Terrible customer service, staff are very rude. All of them seemed to have snaring expressions and were very hostile towards me. Chairs are very small and uncomfortable. There is not enough leg room so you basically have to climb over other people's knees to get to your seat if they don't stand up for you to get past which can be very awkward if you loose you balance and fall forward or stand/trip on there feet. The people in the row behind you are also way to close which feels like an invasion of personal space and also makes it very easy to hear them talking to each other while the movie is screening. Seats are also not high enough up from the row in front so you end up spending the whole duration of the film with half of the screen blocked by the persons head in front of you. Also there is no ventilation in the theatre which makes it very stuffy. They have some stupid rule about not bring your own food in so your stuck spending $7.20 on a small popcorn which is absolutely crazy. Tickets are also really overpriced ended up spending $32 on tickets for my mum and myself. Overall the whole experience left me feeling really pissed off a complete money grab. Cannot recommend it at all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCounter staff an old aged lady, very rude and not friendly welcoming. Ruined my excitement of attending Nelson entertainment this Dec holiday. Wet and heavy rain is the weather, I come from Auckland and customer service is really important role to play. She has done this job too long and she can't deal and serve customers in all age groups. She asked me what flavour drink. I said Fanta with no ice. Old lady staff, put ice and fanta in cup and scooped my popcorn. I said my request Fanta with no ice. Her response towards me was not acceptable as she spoke to me like I was a kid next time tell me before making drinks. I'm a 47 yr woman and really don't appreciate that. I expected she admitted to the mistake and just correct herself in giving what I request to drink and paid for on a wet day. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever buy or ask for a Gift Card as a gift. We did and what they donāt tell you is that you have to go in twice, once to book the movie and once to watch the movie. We even tried to book over the phone - but was advised you have to come in. Come on State Cinema - you need to move with the times. Great that Richmond has some new cinemas arriving - the competition may make State Cinemas up their game. I will be checking them out. UPDATE - I drove all the way in to get my ticket and on the door is a sign saying we are not open until 11.45am. The internet says 10.30am - we are now faced with another trip in. State Cinema - you so need to change your hours on line. Again, really...
