The Warehouse Rotorua — Attraction in North Island

update 25th july 2025 there was a time a few years ago i was getting insults from some of the staff it was upsetting and i never want it to happen again because i have spent thousands of dollars in that place and i should be respected ihave been going here since 1982 and i enjoy going there very much. In 1981 i met a lady i never saw her again for many years she now works there..I just want to tell you she is OK. I don't want to know her at all . I am 72 years old am only interested in people in the same age as me I wished I never met her 44 years ago . (I just want to add this her father is a very nasty man if he upsets her tell him off) I don't want to embarrassed her at all So I will delete this part of the message in a few days time . I don't want any mis under standings. I like going to the warehouse up to 7 days a week. I have a garmit watch .each time I go to the warehouse I do about a mile a day so the more I look in there the more distance I do and the more money I spend (I am competing against 9 strangers with the free garmit app and I like to win )

Today I was severely discriminated against again when I was consuming here. This is the second time. I can't stand it anymore. A lady named Donna spoke to me rudely and banged the table. She served the locals but didn't serve me she turned around and left. After about 5 to 7 minutes, she came back to the cashier and told me to go to another place to line up. I said that I had been queuing behind this lady and she was too rude to me. She told me one word, "NO." At that time, I felt strongly that I was treated unfairly. Is it because I am Chinese? Why did I queue in order and he left after serving white customers? I was very angry at that time. I asked his name directly and told him that I would complain. I've lived in Rotorua for around about 6 months now and shop regularly at the warehouse. I have always enjoyed shopping here as staff have always been pleasant. I'm writing this review as one staff member stood out to me tonight. (Tania- the name of the lady that served me) She has outstanding customer service skills and was absolutely lovely, bubbly and went over and above the expectations of her job. She really made my day! I think that people like that should be recognised and rewarded in some way for being so good at their job.

However I did have one unpleasant incident which also happened earlier today at the console/ gaming desk, where the lady was very rude and snapped at my partner. She didn't seem very happy and all we wanted to know was if the sale on the Xbox controllers included a white and grey one. After she had been very unnecessarily rude I said to my partner "nah we'll go somewhere else". She had just lost a sale. This was the first time I had seen this lady at the warehouse so as a whole the warehouse in Rotorua is a great place to shop.

Just shows how important customer service is and how much of an impact it has on people...
