Bold Flavours Bistro, Café & Restaurant — Restaurant in North Island

Booked with first table for lunch, when we arrive 11.40, I spoke to staff and said I had booked a table for lunch. Having used first table twice before and knew we had to arrive 15 mins before our lunch at 12pm. Bold flavors had no customers at all when we arrived. I was told I was too late for our first table we had booked. Their time for lunch was 11.15am. We were 4, 80 year olds booked for our wedding anniversary. I was told we had to now pay full price as we had missed our slot. We were still the only people in there, so they were not busy at all. We left and walked up to the French cafe, where we were welcomed as valued customers although they were very busy. Food was excellent, service was with a smile and even at full price did not break the bank. Half price and a booking charge at Bold Flavors would have still been more expensive, than the French Cafe. The moral of the story, dont bother with Bold Flavors as we found out. Who wants lunch at 11.15, I had only just finished...

Absolutely Awful Experience – Avoid at All Costs

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was a complete disaster from start to finish.

The food took forever to arrive. When it finally did, the fish was still frozen. Yes, frozen. One of our orders was forgotten entirely—even after we reminded them three times. That's not a small oversight, that's pure incompetence.

When the missing dish finally showed up (long after we asked to cancel it), they told us it was free because of all the mistakes. That would’ve been a decent gesture—if they hadn’t charged us for it anyway. We were billed for the full amount, including the food they forgot and we no longer wanted.

I had my parents with me, otherwise I would’ve made a bigger scene. This was embarrassing, frustrating, and infuriating. If you can’t run a restaurant properly, maybe don’t open one.

I was quite disappointed with my recent dining experience. While the food quality was good, even excellent, the wait time was frustrating.😮‍💨We were there for breakfast and ordered three different meals and two cups of coffee. The coffee arrived within about 10 minutes, but our meals took a full 30 minutes or even longer to arrive. When we ordered, there were only two other tables occupied. What puzzled me was that customers who ordered before and after us received their food, and some had almost finished their meals, while we were still waiting.

I approached the counter to inquire, and they assured me our food was almost ready. I couldn't understand why we had to wait so long. We had other plans scheduled, so when our meals finally arrived, we had to eat quickly and rush off to our next...
