Six on Union Motel — Hotel in North Island

This motel is a disgrace. Filthy rooms and kitchen. Thick black dust. Windows filthy, dusty, cobwebs. Kitchen dirty, bench so old, nearly worn out. Floors dirty. Icebox broken and unusable. Telephone so filthy we didn't even touch it, unbelievable. Spiders on dirty toilet walls.😠 Cat litter box outside stinks badly. "Swimming pool " is a disgrace. Full of filthy old green slimy water with tables and chairs floating around in it... shocking. Not advertised as a working facility, BUT can be seen from balcony and over fence on ground floor. Unbelievable.. Advertise "city views" ... well, there are no city views. Neighbours have stained old shed with old underpants hanging in the window. Also motel has a row of rubbish bins which balcony looks over. These neighbours also played music until 3 am. 😠 We were handed old, sour milk that curdled by owner... disgraceful. 😠The tea was so cheap and awful couldn't drink it. Bought our own. This motel is totally overpriced and is of an unacceptable standard. Highly not...

I’m honestly confused by this place. It was fine? Cheap, and they let our small dog stay, which is a big win. The owner is very kind but that said... it’s an odd experience. There are a lot of cats roaming around, and the room had a strong smell of cat urine/musty. The unit reminded me of staying at a relative’s house, they definitely tidied, but didn’t actually clean. Very outdated but the basics are there. The bedding and towels seemed clean. To top it all off, I found a condom wrapper and a used vape under the bed (did not touch, obviously). If you’re staying in Room 4, please update me if they’re still there. Kind of curious. All in all, it’s cheap, pet-friendly, and run by a lovely guy. But between the cats, the smells, and the surprises under the bed, it’s hard to know...

The WORST place ever. The place is run down and poorly maintained. It’s smelly and dirty looking. And the door is not secure at all, almost see through without any cover so we felt a bit exposed. And they are very strict about early check-in, and you must check out BEFORE 10am. The location is just alright, right infront of Countdown but u can find other motels or hotels with similar price and also with a good location.

It was not that cheap either, if you want to find a good accommodation this is the last place to consider.

The place is a huge disappointment in EVERY single aspect for real.

Plus, if you have a cat allergy be careful cuz they own a lot of cats there.
