This review is for 2 months (weekly) of online shopping. EVERY order delivered has had old and/or rotting fruit and vegetables. Produce that would not be on display because of damage and/or age is what they pack in their online orders. EVERY order has at least one pack of meat that is past its best before date. Eggs are not fresh and 80% of the time have been either past their due date or only have a few days left. Numerous times blocks of butter are packed with leaking packages of meat, usually chicken, and are unusable as its saturated with chicken juice. 3 orders have had frozen goods that have been completely thawed.
Each week they are called and this is brought to their attention. Refunds are given and excuses made. Usually 'we have new people who haven't been trained yet' is the main excuse.
This would suggest that either A. All staff who pack food quit the next week after being hired from the week before. OR B. They are being told to pack the produce and items that no one would purchase due to being rotten/old/past use by.
New World (Or the franchisee owners) know that most people wont complain and they can happily get away with making money off produce that would either be pig food or thrown out.

Read moreChanging my review from 5 stars to 1, had been shopping here as previously mentioned but tried to place an online order to which it was confirmed and we were given a locker number, only to be emailed 6 minutes out (I was already in their carpark at that stage) to bring my wifes ID and the credit card, none of which was initially mentioned when placing the order. The manager then came out in a very passive-aggressive manner and started challenging me to which his manner was matched, he wanted me to drive back to Avondale to get the cards and bring them back and he will deliver it. To which I said him delivering it and seeing the cards upon arrival before handing over our order would suffice and be far more efficient. He arrived before I got home and was aggressive and patronising toward my wife and then left, taking a photo of my business vehicle as he walked past, all the correspondence of him talking to my wife and taking a photo of the truck is recorded on our cctv.
Previous review: This has become one of our go to places since Fresh Collective closed down. Obviously a lot bigger, but it's also great that they accommodated a lot of the staff from Fresh Collective. Always a lot of parking and easy to move...
Read moreIt's a good New World. Always well stocked and many cashiers are very friendly and helpful but those express checkout Indian ladies are quite racist. I forgot one thing after going through the checkout and went back inside with my trolley, 2 bags and my daughter in the seat. Grabbed the item and went to the Express checkout as it was only item. Paid for the item and the indian lady asked for my receipt which i gave and started going through my shopping. Confused, I told her I had just bought these items a few minutes ago. She kept looking. I then said you can go talk to the cashier that served me if you're worried lol. She kept checking and said next time leave your trolley at the front. I felt confused like. I did nothing wrong but felt like I was. 🤣 I understand people need to do their jobs but I don't think she would have done this if I was white.
