Good place to go, when you want to be near the sea. They have an active surf club there, with classes for a range of water activities . A popular tea rooms located next to the surf club. Public loo's, a place to wash the sand off your feet. The waves when they show , and never massive but adequate for surfing. though never . You can swim there but I have during the winter I have not seen any surf life saver flags out. The water is cold most times of the year bit unlike Riversdale beach there seems very little evidence of a rip. Though seriously always check for those calm spots and rips can occur any where. But I have yet to spot one there. Down to the left of the beach there is a big area of the beach set aside for people with dogs. There is a shop that sells ice creams there with a good range of flavours but expect to pay a premium price for your sticky fast melting treat. Oh sandy beach, wind, ice-cream. You have been warned. But all in all one of the better beaches with a small kids...
