We went to Wellington Zoo yesterday and saw some beautifully cared for wildlife. Wellington Zoo works with wildlife parks around the world on breeding programmes and conservation, such as for the Tasmanian Devil which is under threat in their natural habitat in Tasmania. The zoo sits on upon a forested hill near Newtown and has a bright and colourful entrance with a cafe, toilets and gift shop. Also I think most places around the zoo were wheelchair accessible. The animals live mainly in a habitat which features an a indoor house space and an outside space of trees and grassland. The animals are visible to the visitors and we often spotted them munching on the favorite foods, as the zoo keepers had just feed them. The zoo seems to had a lot of beautiful monkeys such as brown capuchin, baboon, tamarins, gibbon, lemur, marmoset, chimpanzee, spider monkey, squirrel monkey, Australian animals such as kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, wallaby, lizards, insects and spiders, dingo, Cape Barron goose, emu, cockatoo and parakeet, New Zealand animals such as kiwi, kaka, kea, Maudes Island frog, lizards and little blue penguins, farm animals such as goats, hens, sheep, fowls and kunekune pigs, African wildlife such as giraffe, nyala, lions, tigers, meerkats, cheetahs, ostriches and other small wild cats and so much more such as the South East Asian sun bear. The exhibits had videos and bright, clear and concise information about each animal. There was a large sitting area near the playground and cafe where we ate lunch, it was a blue building with a gold dome and use to be the house for elephants in the past. There was also the animal hospital and we were able to look into the window and see a vet monitoring an unwell wax eye. Overall it was a very beautiful zoo and the animals seemed happy and very well cared for. It would really be perfect for the whole...
