A small park right on the edge of Bergen which has views overlooking the whole city and it’s harbour. It has benches and a public toilet, is used for walking dogs for the locals and has steps down to the ocean for those brave enough for a freezing cold swim! There’s a little nod to history too, with a totem pole gifted to Bergen from Seattle in the 1970s to celebrate 900 years of partnership. We watched cruise ships come in and watched the locals dive into the ocean for a 6am dip!

This is really quite a beautiful place well set out and offering lovely tracks which are easily walkable and giving spectacular views over the surrounding areas including the fjord and the mountains. Nordnesparken was constructed between 1888 and 1898, it covers about 3.27 hectares and is home to the Bergen Aquarium and a 10-meter-tall totem pole gifted by Seattle.
