Awesome Drink! I discovered this place due to Peru Hop and Diego thanks so much! 😍😍😍😍
See details below:
We had a great experience with Diego our tour guide! He speaks very well English and perfectly Spanish. Diego answered absolutely all our questions and was very kind and supportive. At the pick-up location just ensure you keep your eyes open because the bus will come but it might stop a few meters aways do not worry it's going to have a title ("Peru Hop" in our case).
I was very insecure but Diego was very helpful and patient. He gave clear instructions on the next pick up locations and had to repeat himself as I wanted to reconfirm the information and others as well. At each step of the travelling he was proactive and helped all of us travelers. It was overall a great experience that I strongly recommend doing with Peru Hop and Diego, you must do it at least once in your life you won't regret it.
The Paracas was beautiful and Huacachina was wonderful, the sole Oasis in the entire South America and the sandboarding and Buggy was so exciting and unexpected! We had so much fun everyone here enjoyed their trip it was worth every bit of cents I spent on that trip. If you have questions also do not hesitate to contact Peru Hop and fulfilling their contact form because they are very quick to reply and so helpful.
I am Canadian and never seen so much beauty you must visit Lima and type in Google Peru Hop their activities are awesome and I only regret not staying for the night at Huacachina because this place is so unique.
Read moreSpent the day in Huacachina with my wife and kids (14 and 10). Mainly went for the dune buggy rides. What a rush. Many options and prices so ask around before committing to the first person who grabs your attention (unless you've previously booked one). It was amazing to see a lagoon oasis amidst the mountains of desert sand surrounding you. Many parts of Huacachina were under repair during our visit. I was expecting something a tad cleaner looking however it was still very enjoyable. Public restrooms cost 1 sole, hotels and restaurants won't let you use theirs unless your a guest. Most of our time was spent riding the dunes. We opted for a private ATV so that we would have more control over the tour. Like an ever changing rollercoaster, riding through the dunes is an experience my family will not soon forget. Hats, sunglasses and sunscreen strongly recommended. Those face coverings they try pushing you to buy not so much. Bought a few for the kids but personally I didn't have any issue with sand in my face. Sun sets at 6:30 everyday like clockwork so if your interested in seeing the sunset fade into the dunes book your trip times accordingly. And that's all I have to say about that. Enjoy...

Huacachina is a real desert oasis—literally. Surrounded by massive sand dunes, this tiny lagoon is one of the most unique places we’ve visited. But here’s the thing: don’t waste $100+ on a 16-hour tour from Lima! Instead, plan it yourself for just $120, including transport, a hostel stay, and all tours. For more information check out our blog
Best things to do in Huacachina: Dune Buggy & Sandboarding – Like a rollercoaster in the desert, followed by sandboarding down the dunes. -Sunset from the Dunes – The view is incredible. Climb up a dune and see one of the best sunsets in Peru. -Pisco Tasting in Ica – Since we stayed overnight, we also had time for a pisco tour to try Peru’s famous drink.
Why plan it yourself?
No rushing—you get time to explore, relax, and enjoy.
More fun for less money—just $120 total for transport, a hostel stay, the buggy tour, pisco tasting, and the Paracas trip.
Way better than sitting on a bus all day.
Seriously, skip the overpriced tours and explore Huacachina the right way. You’ll have a much...
