The hotel reminds me of an old municipal office complex. Walls surrounding a central court yard.
The location is great, but Huacachina is so small, any hotel in the circle is within a 5 min walk of anywhere.
The rooms are ridiculously large. Our "triple" might as well have been an 1-bedroom apartment. weird layout where there is an large king sized bed in the front room, smaller two double beds in a "bedroom."
The place literally smells and feels like any old government building in the United States from the 50s-60s. That's is not meant to be a compliment.
Staff is friendly. Somewhat helpful. Man guarding the front gave us wrong directions. Then provided incorrect info about Uber being not available in the area (Uber is available check your app).
Worse part is one of our rooms had no water in the shower. When we mentioned this one check out, the desk person shrugged his shoulders and seems to imply: oh well, sucks for you.
The complaint about the noise is true Behind our rooms, locates another Hostel "Wild Rover" which blasts its music loud, ended by the time it closed around 11pm.
The place is ok. If you do stay here, check your bathroom first and swap rooms if you...
Read moreWe booked a garden view room but on arrival were given keys to a room at the back of the complex. When we went back to reception, the person at the desk showed us the garden view room which was small and tired. As it was late, we chose to stay in the original room. Spoke to a guest later who had heard our front desk conversation. she had had a similar experience, she was a little more persistent than me and was moved to the larger garden view room ! ||The room we stayed in was large and bare, with no place to put your case except on the bed! There was no hot water in the evening or in the morning! |The air conditioning leaked and there was a huge puddle on the floor by the door. ||The breakfast was plentiful.|The gardens beautiful.|The pool big and clean with plenty of shade.|Lovely veranda /bar over looking the oasis.|||I am undecided about this hotel. the hotel has such potential, yet it lets itself down. The communal areas are well kept, but the rooms are disappointing. Service is poor at the front desk and slow in the bar. We were only here for one night so...
Read moreWe just visited and don't understand the negative reviews we see on here. Our room was clean. Infrastructure is indeed not hyper-modern, but that was expected and desired (the hotel has a colonial style). The shower was great with lots of warm water. There was a fridge in the room. There was noise coming from the Huacachina nightlife but it wasn't all that loud, our (young) kids slept soundly as did we. We found no animals in the room except for some stray mosquitoes we accidentally let in. The location is terrific. The hotel's restaurant has the best view of the lagoon. Likewise the pool, which the kids loved and is surrounded by greenery. The garden is everything the photos indicate, it's beautiful and I felt happy just walking through it in the coming and going. Service was kind...
