The website doesn't do this place justice. It's exquisite. Beautiful building, beautiful rooms, excellent service. Looking online it didn't give me the same sense of luxury as when I arrived. From the moment we booked we had top notch service. They sent a car to the airport to pick us up in Lima (~$65 USD), they use sleek M Benz with excellent covid barrier interiors. They have currency exchange at the desk. The breakfast buffet was amazing at the hotel restaurant! Look for the guy cooking eggs, they're so good. At the buffet they have a full selection of items from hot oatmeal with all the mix ins, to food bar, to the egg station, a full line of baked goods (the cinnamon rolls were worth every minute of the 8 hair flight!), sautéed potatoes with peppers and onions, too much to list. Fresh juices. During your stay they have bottled water as much as you need. The hotel has clean, filtered water system throughout for use at the tap for brushing your teeth. They have a pool on the 6th floor, an exercise center, changing rooms with sauna and lockers. A spa. Starbucks is in the adjoining lobby unless you want to drop in to the hotels own version. There is a bar on the 2nd floor with a lounging area. The rooms are large and some still under construction but they provide ear plugs! Room darkening curtains. Comfy robes and slippers in the room. Our room overlooked the ocean and Larcomar mall. We stayed on the 17th floor. The hotel has a car service but they also have ample taxis awaiting our front. Not every taxi can wait as it's blocked off for certain ones. Our taxi driver was so nice. He was super friendly. He was very paternal, he made sure we knew the best little shops to eat, he told us not to use our cellphones on the street bc they can be targeted, to watch for motorcycles, etc. He gave us his card for when we wanted a ride back to the hotel or anywhere else. He was very kind. We're beginner Spanish speakers but most everyone we met here spoke English and helped us with our Spanish. We tried our best and they were very kind! Lol. On check out they helped us print our documents for the airport and put them in envelopes for us. They tool care of us in every way. I won't stay anywhere else when visiting Peru.

The JW Marriot in Lima strongest point is its great location in Miraflores. Its a beautiful hotel both on the inside and out. Most of its rooms have an ocean view which is gorgeous especially at sunset. The location is right at a busy intersection with a premium shopping mall (Lacomar) just opposite from it. There are many eateries of various price range within walking distance. Maido is a short 15 min walk and you can even walk to the other highly ranked restaurants in Barranca (about 35 min). The mall has several high end stores but also a Wong supermarket and other stores that sell things you might need on your travel. The main negative of the location is that it can be noisy at all hours as cars at the intersection is constantly honking even at night. The hotel is modern, clean, and has great amenities. The bed is comfortable and they provide free bottles of water everyday. The bar on the 2nd floor had very friendly staff and prices were reasonable compared to other JW Marriotts I have been to. The gym is very large but is also a health club so it can get busy. The staff is very friendly and I was able to request a late check-out on a busy Friday. Once you start interacting with them, it is all smiles and they try to do everything you request. An area of improvement is probably on the check-in. When we arrived, there was no one to help us so we had to get our bags to the lobby. The hotel can also be confusing as check-in is on the 1st floor but you need to go to the 2nd floor and switch elevators to get to your room. A bit more guidance would be helpful for all guest. The last negative is that the JW Marriott is a magnet for tour operators. It got quite annoying when we were always approached by a tour operator whenever we leave the hotel. While they are not at the main entrance, they are always at the side entrance heading towards the mall. Overall, the JW Marriott is a good hotel that meets the standard you would expect from this high end chain. A few changes would improve the overall experience to the next level. I would still recommend the JW Marriott just for the view out of the room.

I had contacted the hotel's Concierge desk (via e-mail) a few times prior to my stay, and everyone who replied to the e-mails was wonderfully friendly and helpful. They suggested various sights that I might have time to visit, as well as local restaurants.
