I’ve heard so much about the renewed Rosa Nautica that I couldn’t wait to be in Lima to visit! I made a reservation online for 6 people and it was an amazing experience! First, the location of the restaurant is beautiful since you are right there by the ocean. There is parking if necessary but if you are going on an Uber, they can drop you inside the parking area. Then to make it to the actual restaurant, you have a nice walk by a wooden bridge to make it to the actual restaurant. Half of my party was running late so I talked to the hostess about it and they were so nice to keep my reservation. When they finally made it, my grandma was among them with a wheelchair (which I specified in the reservation) and they had a separate entrance with someone in a wheelchair which was great! Everybody was so nice and super sweet to my grandma! We sat at a perfect table with a view of the ocean and the head of the servers introduced us, super nice! We got some drinks and I started with a Chilcano, good and refreshing. Then, our actual server introduced himself and we placed the order for the main entrees. Since I’m vegetarian, they didn’t have many options for me; however, I was happy to see they had a Mushroom Rissoto as an entree and that’s exactly what I got. It was creamy, a good portion for one, and delicious! My grandma shared with my aunt a Ceviche and the Lamb Leg which was marinated and cooked for hours. They loved everything they ordered and were surprised with how soft the lamb was. My uncle got a Tiradito and his girlfriend the salmon. They also love what they ordered. My mom wasn’t feeling that good, her stomach was upset so she needed something light. She ordered a Steamed Corvina with Veggies and she was surprised at how savory everything was even if it was practically a plain diet. For dessert, we got Alfajor and a Chocolate Cake which both were delicious! Since my grandma’s birthday was in a couple of weeks and I wasn’t going to be there, we even sang her happy birthday and the server even brought her a rose. Everyone was so nice! I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Lima! Our total was around $250 for 6 people including 6 entrees, 4 alcoholic drinks, 6 waters, and 2 desserts. Price is pretty good (probably expensive for someone living in Lima) for people coming from the US and want a nice place with delicious food and...
Read moreI would never go back to this place even if someone had a gun to my head after my experience in April. I lived in Lima in the late 80's and went back to visit friends. One of the only wishes I had was to go have a nice brunch at this restaurant so myself and a Peruvian lady friend went on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated in a place that was not in the vicinity of others diners and my friend went to the restroom. When she came back she asked where her purse was and I said I thought she had taken it with her. She immediately went to management and said her purse had been stole and they were somewhat attentative to the situation but kept telling her she must have left it in the bathroom.......She repeatedly told them she had not and they rolled a camera tape back to confirm that she had indeed had not taken the purse. This had to be a theft by one of the waiters who snatched it when I had my head turned. As said before there was no diners around us and I never left the table. My friends new I Phone 5 (2 days old) was in her purse, keys and a couple hundred dollars were in the purse. All the keys in her apt building had to be changed at her expense due to the common areas on the ground floor are all used with the same keys by her fellow tenants. She told me several times on the day of the occurance not to pay the bill but the entire staff was carrying a tray with the bill and following us around like we were common criminals and insuring that we did not walk out before settling the account. Never again!!! People listen up and do not patronize this place. We went to the police dept and made a formal complaint and statement so we did all we could do............There was no apologies, there was no nothing other than these people worrying that we were going to walk out of that restaurant that day on a $133.00 bill. ...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends to celebrate my best girl's 18th birthday. We had been planning this event for weeks, and we were all excited to spend the evening together at this particular restaurant. However, our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we were informed by the restaurant staff that we were not allowed to bring in a special type of cake for the occasion.
We had called the restaurant a few days before to inform them that we would be bringing in a cake, and we were under the impression we could, because they allowed us to blow out the candles and everything. However, the staff informed us that outside food was not allowed in the establishment.
We explained that this was a special occasion because and that the cake had specifically requested this type of cake. We were shocked and disappointed by their inflexibility, especially since we had made a reservation well in advance and had spent a significant amount of money on the meal.
The situation was made worse by the poor service we received. Our waiter was even a bit rude when it came to this situation.
As for the food itself, it was mediocre at best. The portions were small, and the flavors were uninspiring and over priced. We had heard good things about the restaurant, but our experience was far from enjoyable.
In the end, our night was ruined. The birthday girl was upset that she could not have the cake she had been looking forward to, and we were all disappointed by the poor service and mediocre food. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially if you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff's inflexibility and lackluster service left a sour taste in our mouths, and we will not be returning to this establishment...
