Avoid this Casino: We had one of the disappointments of our lives on New Year's Eve
As a family, we eagerly anticipated celebrating New Year's Eve at Fiesta. This occasion was particularly special for us, as it was my first night out after undergoing surgery on my cervical column. Our expectations were high, especially after the effort and expense involved in securing VIP tickets for a large group.
Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, before the scheduled meal time, we were surprised to find that no drinks could be served until the meal commenced. Despite repeated attempts to negotiate with the wait staff and the manger, we were left dry.
This was just the beginning of a series of letdowns.
The appointed time for dinner came and went with no food in sight. After a considerable delay, we received a lacklustre starter and the main course never materialized. Seeking assistance from the management only led to a frustrating game of blame-shifting, as they refused to take responsibility for the issues, pointing to another manager instead. Still no food came, the only water was offered was the cheapest one could buy in Lima, and drink orders were taken and filled one guest at a time.
Our situation was further aggravated by the lack of consideration for dietary needs within our group, particularly for a vegan who needed plant-based options and and for a diabetic family member who needed sugar-free drinks. Nothing of the sort was available.
In the end, with a mix of frustration, embarrassment and bewilderment, and after repeated fruitless attempts to address the debacle with Fiesta staff, we made the difficult decision to leave Fiesta Casino at 23:30, foregoing the New Year's countdown. This left us stranded on one of the most festive nights of the year, with no alternative plans in place.
Fiesta Casino's handling of this event was not only unprofessional but also showed a complete disregard for their guests' experience. The indifference displayed by the management, particularly the three supervisors responsible, was not just disappointing but downright insulting. Their evasion of any responsibility and lack of initiative to remedy the situation exacerbated the evening's failures. The delayed dinner service, the underwhelming starters, and the completely overlooked main course for our table were just the tip of the iceberg. Our early departure at 23:30, driven by sheer frustration and disappointment, underscored a night marred by incompetence and a glaring disregard for guest satisfaction.
The management came up with one pretext and excuse after another to shield them from their own incompetence and being devoid of initiative or the desire to find a solution. Our eventual consolation prize was a few bottles of water by the brand “Cielo” (hmmmm) when we were told it was not possible to obtain any refreshment from any part of the Casino and much later we were told to step out and buy our own drinks at a local store! Lovely!
