This hotel presents itself as a luxury establishment, but in reality, it falls short in multiple areas and feels more like a scam. The prices charged are disproportionate to the quality of service provided. Below is my list of recommendations for improvement:
Elevator: My friend and I booked two separate rooms under one reservation, yet we were assigned rooms on different floors. After dinner, we planned to meet in my friend’s room for the following day’s planning. Naturally, we expected to simply take the elevator to the floor. However, this was not possible. Guests are required to use their key card in the elevator, but access is restricted only to one’s own floor, the 6th floor (pool and gym), and the 21st floor (bar and restaurant). When I raised the issue with the front desk, I was informed there was no alternative, and the staff explicitly advised me to use the stairs to reach the floor—climbing several floors on foot. While this may have been intended as a “security” measure, it reflects poor planning and disregard for guest convenience. Being told to use the stairs in such a hotel was especially disappointing.
Beds: The bed bases were stained and visibly dirty, as shown in the photos. In addition, the beds themselves were unstable. I assumed the wheels would have locks to prevent movement, but that was not the case. The slightest pressure against the wall caused the bed to slide. This lack of attention to basic functionality is unacceptable for a four-star hotel.
Laundry Service: The laundry pricing is unreasonable and exploitative. Guests are charged per item, ranging from $2.50 for socks or undergarments to $6.50 for pants, pajamas, and shirts. In my case, a few items—including shirts, pants, and underwear—amounted to nearly $60. Such pricing feels like a deliberate overcharge and leaves the impression of a scam.
Pool: The pool water was uncomfortably cold. For a four-star property, the expectation is to maintain the pool at a comfortable temperature so guests can actually enjoy it.
Room Condition: The overall paintwork in the room was poorly maintained, as can be seen in the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Estelar Miraflores during my visit to Lima, Peru, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and professional service provided by the hotel staff.
The hotel's location in the heart of Miraflores is unbeatable. It's situated in a safe and vibrant neighborhood, making it easy to explore the city's attractions, restaurants, and shops. The Miraflores boardwalk, which offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, is just a short walk away.
Upon entering my room, I was pleasantly surprised by its modern and stylish decor. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed with all the amenities a traveler could need. The comfortable bed and quality linens ensured a restful night's sleep, and the soundproofing was effective in keeping street noise at bay.
The hotel's dining options were exceptional. The on-site restaurant served a delicious breakfast buffet with a variety of fresh and tasty options to choose from, catering to different dietary preferences.
Hotel Estelar Miraflores places a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, and it shows in their attentive and courteous staff. Whether it was providing local recommendations, arranging transportation, or addressing any inquiries, they were always ready to assist with a smile.
The hotel's facilities, including a fitness center and a rooftop pool, added to the overall comfort and convenience of my stay.
In conclusion, Hotel Estelar Miraflores is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for a top-notch experience in Lima. Its prime location, well-appointed rooms, excellent dining, and outstanding service make it a standout option in Miraflores. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone...
Read moreI was very disappointed in the treatment that the reception staff had with my mother-in-law. My two twin boys had not seen their grandmother in over 5 years. Because she works during the day, in the evening she wanted to come and see her grandchildren. After her hard day's work one evening and after fighting 3 hours of traffic my children’s grandmother arrived at the hotel at 10:30 p.m. The reception staff called my wife and informed us that she would be able to come up to our room but if she were to stay after 11 p.m. that they would charge us $33.24 USD. The following day I went to the reception and ask to see where this rule was written that any guests of ours would need to pay to go up to the room after 11 p.m. I was never supplied with a document that recorded this type of rule. Granted it is fully understood that no guest of ours would ever sleep over but that we were on vacation and my mother-in-law simply wanted to see her grandchildren and bid them goodnight. The hotel was actually forcing a curfew of when we should go to bed for the night. I have never seen this type of rule in any policy or in any of my previous travels in Hotels in Lima, South America Central America South America Europe or Asia. I consider this type of treatment for family members or guests abusive and unacceptable. I do not blame staff as they were enforcing the hotel rules. Hotel Estelar appears to endorse discrimination against local population and social classes. It is very disturbing and goes against all our family, and most north American values and are extremely shocked that a 5 star hotel would be have such archaic restrictions to...
