Dragonfly Hostel was a great experience for me! I stuffed up with the booking and booked the Cuzco hostel instead of Lima, but the staff was quick to assure me that they have a bed, which is in 4 bedroom (only one other girl in there) I prefer this as we had our own small bathroom and it was cosy and tidy :) My first day in Lima was great, the staff asked if I would help them with their add, we had lots of laughs, a few drinks and plenty of banter. I really got to know the staff and let me tell you this much - absoloute legends. Genuine people with good humour - and they all speak English! Throughout my stay, the staff were super helpful and easy going, they lent me a charger, they suggested good cafes (which I LOVED), tours and gave me a map, I felt very welcomed, I felt at home somewhat. The venue itself is colourful artwork throughout, with hammocks on the roof top, good chill vibes which is what I was after and super cheap, like a classic hostel 👌🏽 The only thing I suggest is that if you stay here at this time of the year, rug up and bring warm clothes and a scarf! She gets brisk at night time! Another suggestion is to add fruit to the breakfast, that's all! :) Thanks to the staff at this hostel, felt super welcomed and you're all such characters,...
Read moreBecause i booked night by night i stayed in 3 different rooms. Not all rooms were equal. I actually found that the larger rooms were the better ones. The small ones trend to smell stale. The best room is the largest one on the eastern side of the building (its quieter). The ladies at the front desk are lovely and helpful. There are only 2 showers in each of the male/female bathrooms but i never had to wait. Showers were actually pretty good. Nice roof terrace. Good craft beers available. Can be difficult to find a wall socket to charge phones. WiFi patchy or unavailable in some rooms despite staff saying they have no problems. Didn't eat the breakfast, bread and jam not my thing (personal choice), but access to tea and coffee was good. Lots of good guests in the hostel, easy to...
Read moreI just popped in for a single night's stay and found everything to be satisfactory to my liking. The cute girl at the front desk was cheerful and helpful with a detailed check in. Previous reviews complained of overcrowded dorms but found them to be normal. Upstairs patio is a nice place to hangout but inside it lacked a living area which means relaxing can only be done in the kitchen. The breakfast included is pancakes which I don't personally like but is only a personal preference. Although the showers are good, I felt the toilet facilities were a bit scarce and appear it could be a problem during busy times. I didn't like the men's bathroom to just be an extension of the main hall way and he internal slide doors were always broken. Overall for the price I think reasonable...
