Over the years as I've traveled, I realised there are people who're either into museums for the actual content and get info out of it - and there are the 'window shopper' types who might become marginally smarter, and might learn a factoid or two, but aren't fully into it. And I've also realised I fall into the latter. Even then, this Museum is a nice place to visit. You don't need to go too out of your way, it's free, and there's lots of nice exhibits from Philippine history here. Especially lovely are the animals / butterfly exhibits. There were some nice touches like an old camera on display - saying that this was the cam used to take original photos of the housing university.

Great University museum! Has galleries on natural history (substantial mammal, bird and butterfly taxidermy collection for a small museum), northern Philippines history, ceramic and porcelain artifacts, and even a local collection of Roman Catholic church iconography. Currently has a bamboo weaving exhibit until end of Feb 2019. Prepare 75 pesos entrance fee. Museum sells select publications of the USC Press.

The nature exhibit with the animals was very impressive. Also the cultural explanations were detailed.

Our professor in Archaeology invited us for a class visit schedule in USC Museum and it was really worth it. They have nice collection of pre colonial burial practices in Cebu and Mindanao. They also have biodiversity collection and vintage santos/religious images worth seeing.

Small museum inside the main campus with a variety of interesting exhibits from animals, pottery, sculptures for a very reasonable 75 pesos. Took about 20 minutes, but would take longer if there were more people there. Wasn't busy in the afternoon on a weekday
