University of San Carlos Museum — Attraction in Cebu City

Over the years as I've traveled, I realised there are people who're either into museums for the actual content and get info out of it - and there are the 'window shopper' types who might become marginally smarter, and might learn a factoid or two, but aren't fully into it. And I've also realised I fall into the latter.

Even then, this Museum is a nice place to visit. You don't need to go too out of your way, it's free, and there's lots of nice exhibits from Philippine history here. Especially lovely are the animals / butterfly exhibits.

I found the student volunteer curator Daniel annoying. He kept on following me while touring around the galleries as if I'm doing something suspicious. He attempts to explain to me some of the galleries but had a hard time speaking either in Tagalog or English so I barely understood him at all. Has galleries on natural history (substantial mammal, bird and butterfly taxidermy collection for a small museum), northern Philippines history, ceramic and porcelain artifacts, and even a local collection of Roman Catholic church iconography.
