The market is one you’d expect from a far flung island destination. You see fishermen bringing their catch at about 7 AM and they come and go. We’d wait for a good catch, and ask for the restaurant that can cook for you. At about 200 pesos a dish, they’ll cook it simple and nice. Just make sure you buy the veggies and condiments from the stall close by. I’ll post some photos of Tita who said yes to have our fish, shrimp, crab cooked for us. Just show a photo of sauteed or fried in case of communication probs….. we had to buy fresh fish and tons of veggies because we’re traveling with the old folks . They need low sodium fish diet….oh, and that stall we found is the oldest food vendor there. It’s not a glamorous stall but you buy all the ingredients (even oil) from a stall next to it and you know you’re getting the good stuff. He can also roast baby eggplants and fish. I suggest buying your pasalubong cashews here if you only want the plain ones. It's a bit cheaper than Melb's :) you can also buy dried fish here! They wrap it already in paper and packaging tape and make a cute bag with a handle with it ♡

You can buy a variety of goods, from fish, fruits, vegetables, native delicacies and yes, Cashew! Coron has a special recipe of roasted and flavored cashew nuts.
People in the market are honest and fair, never abusive of their guests. There are also indigenous people selling shells and sea weeds who are very friendly, gentle and kind.
