Tres Marias Silog & Goto Haws — Restaurant in Coron

A little local restaurant that serves local fare at such affordable rates. I had the Tapsilog and it was sufficient for a light lunch for one. This is also available for breakfast from 6am. Between 6 and 10am some meals come with an orange juice.

Service by one particular waitress needs improvement. I waited 30 minutes and the waitress had walked past me at least 6 times bringing food and also forgotten items that customers had to request eg cutlery, water etc. After 30 minutes I got up and walked after her to see if I could place my order. She took my order and food arrived 20 minutes later. Some multi-tasking skills would improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

But I suspect customers will keep returning for the affordable prices and spacious tables. My Tapsilog was only 180 PHP. The restaurant is cooled only by fans.

Update: Came back on another occasion and had better service by another waiter with a baby strapped to a pouch. Food was served very quickly. If you're in Coron and looking for an amazing dining experience, Tres Marias is the place to go! The food here is absolutely incredible, with an extensive menu that has something for everyone. As someone who requires gluten-free options, I was thrilled to find out that their soy sauce and oyster sauce are gluten-free, allowing me to enjoy almost all of their delicious local dishes without any concerns.

The freshness and quality of the ingredients shine through in every bite. It’s clear that the team at Tres Marias takes great care in preparing their food, and the flavors are nothing short of fantastic. On top of that, the pricing is very reasonable, making it excellent value for money.

We ordered several dishes and it took at least an hour for the food to come out. We ordered 4 beers and those did not come out within 15 min or so and we had to ask for it. The pork in the kare kare bagnet was not crispy as it should have been and primarily consisted of fat. There were also chunks of peanut butter that were not mixed into the stew making the dish lack the peanut butter flavor. Additionally, 2 dishes were served for a party of 4 and no sharing plates were provided. Additionally, we ordered rice initially with our meal and had to also ask for that while our entrees were sitting on the table getting cold. You can’t expect us to just eat the entree by itself as rice is a primary dish served always with their entrees.
