We've had the worst dining experience in this restaurant. My girlfriend and I decided to have our anniversary dinner at this place. It did not lived up to our expectation considering the amount of good reviews that they have. The service was bad that we had to call on them several times to follow up on our food. We've waited for more than 40mins just for the food to be served not including the waiting time we endured to be seated. And I tell you it was not worth the wait. The food was so mediocre that even those inexpensive food places near the beachfront was a far better choice.
We had a couple of drinks so normally we wanted to have a bit of water after. The funny thing was, when we asked for service water they told us that they don't offer such and we had to pay for it, which we understood. But then they offered us 1L of bottled mineral water. I mean, who does that? I certainly have never experienced anything like that in any restaurant before. Better take you your money elsewhere. The island has far better restaurants.
What truly bothered us was how accommodating the manager and their staff were to their foreign customers, but to us they did not bother checking in if we needed anything else. I do not know if they are like this to all their Filipino patrons or if this was just a one time thing. But we felt insulted that they do not offer the same service to all their paying customer. Never will I ever recommend this place to any of our friends. Worst place to...
Read moreClassic, cosy little Italian place, really warm, chill vibes and soft jazz in the background. Also the place where we ended up eating everything we don’t usually like.
They came highly recommended by our host, so we dropped by to have some woodfired pizzas. We got the spicy Hungarian sausage (9 inch, I think) and added pepperoni, a raw beef appetiser dish and a bottle of red wine.
The beef dish came with rockets, a lemon wedge and freshly grated parmesan. I HATE parmesan. I finished all of it. My partner LOATHES rockets. She couldn’t stop at it. Enough said, the beef was hard to beat — super fresh whether eaten on its own or with everything else.
The pizza was fired to perfection, generously topped with sausages and pepperoni. It didn’t look it, but it was pretty juicy and crispy at the same time. I even finished the smoky crust when I usually leave those bits untouched. We also had enough to take home for breakfast the next day.
Service was slow (which seems to be the norm in Philippines?) but the staff were friendly, warm and helpful where possible. Especially the lady boss!
Prices are very reasonable for the area, about 1400 pesos all in. Desperately wanted to come in again for the beef dish the next day but we ran out of time.

Read moreWe celebrated my wife’s birthday at Trattoria Altrove, El Nido, Palawan, and it was truly a memorable experience. The ambiance was warm and cozy, with a relaxing beachfront view that made the evening extra special. The rustic design and soft lighting created the perfect setting for a romantic dinner.
The food was excellent, their pizza and pasta were authentic, flavorful, and served fresh. Portions were generous, and the quality exceeded our expectations. Despite the busy night, the service was smooth and efficient. The staff were attentive, accommodating, and added to the overall positive experience.
