At level 7 google reviewer, I limit my 5 stars only to those that wow me. So here...our first choice was Marimegmeg but we didn't get it because of their poor communications. Little did we know that Mua Tala was miles better which actually came in as a blessing. We had 2 itineraries in El Nido, 1st was of course the tours of which we booked at some fairly cheap hotel in the town proper wherein tours are just a walk away and secondly were lots of time to chill of which Mua Tala was a perfect spot. You go to El Nido other than the tours is to view the magnificent towering limestone island formations something Mua Tala best offers where you're far off the hustle of the city. The staff from the reception down to the cleaners were hands down exemplary. The room was nothing but perfect. The hot tub which not even Marimegmeg has, is simply wonderful. The calming scent with candles soothes a long tiring day. And yeah, if you need connection, PLDT was disconnected but again, Mua Tala planned ahead because they gave us WiFi Broadband for connectivity since Globe is basically non existent and Smart is spotty at best. Their free breakfast was sumptuous, though better if it was buffet style. They only have a handful of boutique rooms so not many guests but all were decent. We availed the second from the top room and it was perfection at its finest because of the balcony offers the magnificent view. A bit pricey and for a few grand more, you would have already gotten a cabana on island. But we wouldn't exchange that island feels to the exclusivity that Mua Tala offers being a couple of storeys high with noone around you and all the view for you to take. I've seen some pretty bad reviews about Mua Tala and they certainly worked them out. We couldn't have asked for more..kudos to the staff and management!!!

My honest review after staying at Mua Tala Hotel, El Nido (end of Apr 2025) The Good ๐Ÿก Spacious and clean room ๐ŸŒŠ Beautiful sea views and a good-sized balcony ๐Ÿ™‚ Friendly and welcoming staff ๐Ÿš Airport transfer was excellent โ€” new car and perfectly on time Opportunities for Improvement ๐Ÿšถ Reception access could be improved โ€” better signage would help guests with the 10โ€“15 min walk through sand. ๐Ÿง— 150+ steps to reach the room (Adlaw) โ€” installing a lift would be amazing, or ask for preferences upfront โ˜• Breakfast experience could be lifted โ€” better variety, fresh options, and more quantity would match the hotelโ€™s pricing ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ Pool area needs upgrades โ€” more beds, more umbrellas, and a better layout would make it more inviting ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Poolside and beach restaurant could improve โ€” faster service, fresher food, and better drink recipes would greatly enhance the experience. All the drinks tasted out of a box. ๐Ÿ–๏ธ Pool/beach towel system feels bureaucratic โ€” simplifying the process or using a wristband system would make it more relaxed ๐Ÿ›ต Motorbike rental quality needs review โ€” partnering with a more reliable provider would avoid safety issues. Our motorbike was not really safe for the road. ๐Ÿ’ธ Pricing needs to align with the offering โ€” either elevate the service/amenities or adjust the price point. We paid over AU$500/night, but we usually get much better services in other places. โžก๏ธ Better maintenance and upgrades would help the property compete with neighbouring hotels. Would I stay again? Probably not.

Beyond expectations. Inspirational. The beauty of this hotel is beyond compare. Waking to the view of limestone mountains. But it's really the service that was beyond. From before our stay communication with the hotel manager Sir Norvin was responsive and so helpful. Especially with coordinating transportation and porter service to carry our bags all the way from pick up down the beach up the stairs to our room. Spoiled from the get go. Marilyn our housekeeper is the wrong word. She was more like our perolsonal room attendant. She always stocked our fridge with a fresh bucket of ice. We were treated to complimentary breakfast daily which was a surprise since booking.com said it didn't come with breakfast. The chef prepare delicious meals. And our servers Lila and Sheena were so attentive and always smiling. The pool was closed upon our arrival but quickly opened and the water was warmed by the sun. Bonus for us was the free kayaks and paddle boards right on our beach. Shopping and ATMs close by so no need to go all the way into El Nido town. But tricycles easy to catch right at the mall entrance. I cannot say enough good things except to say we wil return with our families again and again. Thank you Mua Tala for an unforgettable stay.

El Nido is a thriving tourist destination and finding a quiet space that is also close to the action can be a bit daunting. Mua Tala's oceanside location at Vanilla Beach was its primary selling point for my partner and me.

Things that made our stay special: The views are unparalleled, the rooms are insanely spacious, and I wish my bathroom at home was as beautiful as the one in our room. The swimming pool was always clean and never crowded so it was easy to step away from the party on the beach to enjoy moments of solitude and peace. My partner is vegan and the kitchen was able to make small adjustments for his dietary restrictions Once we arrived, any questions or needs we had were addressed efficiently.

Things to note: Getting in touch with the property prior to our stay was a bit delayed. I had e-mailed and sent messages via WhatsApp twice to inquire about airport pickup; about one month prior and again a week prior to our stay with no response. I turned to instagram and the social media manager was extremely speedy and helpful in forwarding my message. Once that was sorted out, the service from there on was perfect. Front desk was helpful in organizing and answering questions and we had no further issues. As other reviews have noted, the accommodations here are not wheelchair friendly. To get to your 10 star view and room, one must have to be willing to work for it. We had one of the king suites at the top, and yes, there are many stairs to get there. However, this was not an issue for us as the regular exercise gave us permission to eat as much as we wanted! The ceiling fan wasn't working for our stay.

Mua Tala is worth the cost and the stairs. I've recommended to my friends/family who are headed to El Nido...

Probably my worst experience in el nido !||After one beautiful month in Philippines, amazing people and amazing place I had my last stop in mua tala.||If internet pictures looked good, reality was so different. I was supposed to spend 5 nights. Finally I stayed only one.||- disgusting and smelly room ! I had to wait one hour for them to change me in an other room. Awful ! No apologies and irritation.||- for 5 nights, they explain you that you will must change of room during the stay. (Not upgrade, just same one) Absolutely bad management.||- unpleasant reception/front office : you donโ€™t feel welcome. You are not a customer. You are a wallet !! one hour for a check in ! The man was super slow with ID and signature etc.. I wasted one hour on a chair waiting for him to do my check in. No informatรฎons about the room, the pool, the breakfast. You have to ask. But to talk about price and credit card they are here !||If you need anything else : they are not helpful. They donโ€™t like people.||- I ask to talk with the manager about all the troubles : she refused to talk with me. Front office just told me ยซ she has no time for a customer ยป. No service at all.||- only beach access to the hotel : 10 minutes walking from the main road. No car access. Room super far with only big stairs access. (Around 50 stairs to get your room)||- for the same price : you will find so much better and so much kindness anywhere else.||I travelled in all over the world. This was the worst human experience. I hope this comment will help you to avoid sadness and...
