I’m disappointed with the changes to what used to be Clark Don, now Gui K-BBQ. I understand that it’s not the same management, but upon searching for Clark Don, this resto comes up so you would think it’s the same.
Some items from the old banchan set remained the same, but the new soup and sweet potato sides were not as flavorful as before. The Japchae and Barley Tea was removed too. They also didn’t have the marinated onion anymore, but they did honor requests for regular onion to be grilled. I was also surprised how much peanut and shrimp was incorporated into the sides. The sauce, sweet potato, and salad all had peanut and the soups were shrimp heavy. I wish they would have told us before, but lucky we saw it before one of our guests with allergies ate the food. They should specify food allergens so customers can be aware.
The meat we had was just okay. The beef brisket, aged pork belly, and the thinly sliced pork belly were all dry and lacked flavor. Galbisal and spicy chicken were juicy and flavorful.
The service was also fine. They forgot some of our orders and we had to follow up, but that’s understandable since they were short-staffed. Still, the wait staff provided excellent service with a smile every time.
Overall, I would say that Gui K-BBQ is not somewhere I’d go to again. Sadly, prices got higher and quality...
Read moreplace: -ambiance is really chic and modern -clean and well sanitized -good placing of tables and chairs between groups (social distancing is properly followed) -nice to hang out and take photos (specially at night as they have great lighting as background
food: -tried their unlimited pork and beef and all tasted great and delicious -all meats (both plain and marinated, also tender) is succulent -they use real charcoal to grill the meats so good amount of smokiness is added to the meat enhancing the flavors -good flavors of side dishes, but wish there were more variety (around five were served: kimchi, potato marbles, pickled seaweed, pickled eggplant, stir-fried spicy beansprout)
service: -we're properly welcomed when we entered through the door -immediately checked for health protocols -endorsed us immediately as well to our table -staff is attentive and efficiently served the food we ordered -always checks our table and grill often
amenities -good exhaust systems for the smoke on your grill -good seats and cozy -nice wide table, no problems when ordering alot -airconditioning is a little below average as it is kinda warm, then the charcoals adds more heat on your table. (i think they did not turn all the casette a/c on though)

Read moreMy family were craving some Korean BBQ and we thought, why not try something new? Because we are always into unlimited samg but then I found Clark-don on facebook, I checked out their facebook page and to my surprise they're super active and quick with the replies. Plus, they accept reservations!
As we walked in, instantly we got friendly and warm welcome greetings from the owner and the crew which we really appreciate! The place is clean, huge and had this awesome lively vibe with the warm lighting. We ordered the pork set, and wow they gave us like 8 different side dishes and it would say it was fresh! Mashed potato was my favorite! mom couldn't get enough of that radish kimchi, my sister loved the fish cakes! and let's talk about the meat, staff will cook it for you and OMG, it's yummy chewy juicy! I will not forget my first bite but I am also not sure if I just that hungry, but for us the meat tasted soooo goooodddd!!
And then we're like, dessert time, so mango bingsu it is. Bit of a rollercoaster with some mangoes being sour, but overall, sweet ending. Paid around 3.7k php for the 4 of us they accept GCASH, totally worth every penny. Solid 10/10 experience, guys.
