Been here before and I have highly recommended this resto to my friends abroad due to its authentic filipino meryendas, NOT until we encountered a rude, unprofessional, unapologetic "manager" name Alex, he is by far has the worst customer service! We came as a group with a 3yr old girl little girl, We ask if she pays half since she is a picky eater and we don't know if she will like the food, the manager said NO because its a policy for 3yrs old above to pay in full, he started explaining unecessary things and gave examples "this" and "that", I told him to Stop talking and said okay we are not gonna pay for the kid because she is not going to eat, Then this manager rudely and proudly answered back. "Okay, kahit juice wag nyo painumin ha!". My elderly uncle felt disrespected and utter the words "tumigil ka na wala kang alam", then the "manager" again rudely and proudly answered back infront of all the customers eating " EH DI KAYO NA MATALINO". In the end I have to talk to the owner which she calmy said " I will talk to him. To the management, I hope you do something and watch out for this type of employee, an employee that does not care about your business, an employee that deals with your valued customers very unprofessional. In all fairness, kudos to the rest of your staff that took care of us and did a very good job with...
Read moreWe went to eat here âcos it says they serve authentic Kapampangan food, and, of course, as tourists, we would love to try them out. But, oh gosh, I was never so disappointed. I think the expensive price point doesnât justify how underwhelming the food taste is. This is an understatement âcos itâs common that when someone is hungry, the food regardless of the taste is supposed to taste good. But at the end of my meal, I was left unsatisfied. The pork sisig - Php320.00 (we had to order with an egg as extra as it didnât come with one) is peppery and tastes too fatty. The serving is also small despite the waitress saying itâs good for 2-3 people. The adobong kangkong - Php200.00 is also peppery and salty. The chicken gizzard - Php150.00 is something I would have loved the taste if it wasnât too tough. I thought they were going to roast it as it is served in barbecue sticks but the texture seems like itâs fried. The buko shake according to the person I ate with tasted like coconut oil. And it would be best if the fresh buko is served chilled. All in all, I think Matam-ih failed to deliver and only gave me an idea of whether this is, excuse the term, how bad Kapampangan food is. It doesnât help that they advertise with the word âauthentic Kapampangan...
Read moreGood place, good location. Not sure how authentic the food is but it's good. There are a wide array of dishes and delicacies to choose from their menu. Price is reasonable and serving portions are good/okay. Some of the foods we ordered were new to us so we can't say whether it was not very tasty or the flavor profile just didn't appeal to us.
Lots of staff to accomodate all customers. Place was still very busy at 1-3pm so I understand our order took a while. We were waitlisted for less than 10 minutes. Once seated we asked to be moved as it was smokey outside because of their grilling station (the place had an open air set up but there were airconditioned rooms also.
We had bulanglang na hipon (kinda like sinigang sa bayabas but without sampaloc), fried itik, bangus steak, and bistek kalabaw. All good. I particularly enjoyed the itik - it was well marinated and was crispy and had no foul poultry smell/taste. However it is quite dry. The bulanglang was my least favorite as it did not appeal well to my taste.
Took a while to bill out because the first 4 staffs I approached did not seem to pay attention. We stayed for a 2 hours or so because we waited for an hour...
