For the past 2 years, we've checked into Park Inn for New Year's Eve, but this last year 2023, we decided to check into royce (old building). After checking in at just before 2pm, we were surprised to find out that there was a free merienda buffet to be served from 3 to 6pm. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise since the food tasted really good. Choices were limited - pancit, soup (I think twas wonton or mami), pandesal with glazed ham; while for dessert - rice cake, maja blanca etc. but they were all delicious. The wait staff was also very quick, attentive & accommodating. The choices for buffet breakfast were very extensive as compared to the others - the usual Filipino breakfast - hotdog, tapa then other Filipino viands - caldereta, adobo, nuggets, arroz caldo, spaghetti, carbonara, salad bar, dimsum bar, cereals, drinks bar, omelette, bread & dessert station + my favorite glazed ham & pandesal. It also tasted really good. The room was very spacious when compared to the newer trendy hotels. Parking was just in front of the hotel. Checking in & out was also quick. It was value for money at less than 4K.

2 issues I had, both w/ housekeeping: 1 - found 2 strands of hair, 1 long & 1 short in the beddings & by the shower wall 2 - At about 12:45am, I called up housekeeping to borrow a spoon since I had to take an anti-allergy medicine. 1:20am I made a follow-up & they informed me twas already on its way. A little after 1:30am, the spoon still didn't arrive, so I decided to wing it & used the coffee cup. I was already in bed in when the spoon arrived so I decided not to accept it anymore.

All in all this was a...

Had our Annual Planning at Royce Hotel. The seminar room is adequate for our participants. Altho i estimate the room can hold up to 200 or more people. The sound system, projector, 2 white screen are functioning well. Some food for our lunch & dinner is a bit salty for our taste. We advised the staff serving, to ask the chef to tone-down the saltiness. The room for our overnight accomodation is big & can accomodate up to 4 beds altho ours is a triple-bed room. The bed is comfortable, not lumpy, not too hard for my back. The aircon unit functions well, we even have to lower the temp to suit our needs. The bathroom cum CR is clean, toiletries provided, towels also, hot water sufficient for the 3 of us. Lightings in the room is okay. Television is provide, also a room ref which we didn't use. Kettle for hot water is available, wirh cimplimentary coffee, tea, cream & sugar, also with Splenda. Hangers for our clothes, complimentary slippers are provided. Card keys sometimes malfunction but readily attended by staff. There are other places to go to around Royce Hotel. There's a Starbucks on the opposite side of the street we're in. Also some restos. We didn't try the loop bus coz we have our own vehicles. Oh, a breakfast buffet comes with the overnight room accomodations. We're billeted at the 6th floor but no worries, the elevator says it can carry 900 kgs weight of passengers. Good thing, we're on the mid-size range, some are petite. Haha! All in all, i can recommend...

Honestly, dissapointed. I expexted not much of this hotel, maybe just a good place to sleep and clean up. BUT NO NOT TODAY, they decided it would be a good idea to remove all handles from the emergency exit doors on the left, leading us to almost get LOCKED IN the fire exit. And why? Because the elevators are SLOW as in like a snail, not turbo, an ordinary SNAIL! Secondly, we tried calling the front desk, but they didn't pick up after 5 minutes of trying. Wifi kinda sucks, as in it sucks a LOT! We reserved the room in advance, but it turns out someone was staying there. So we had to wait until another room was available to be used, they should have told us since they told us we would be able to use that room. But suddenly the person might have decided to extend on the day we we're staying, but they didn't say until later. No hairdryer, aircon is SOOOO hot it barely works, but at least the food was decent. The only good part was the Bible. Update: The towel has a stain. Requested for a new hairdyer due to the fact that it was broken and smelled BURNT!? Thank you Micheal and Aldhen from Housekeeping for giving us a new one! Also beds were as TIGHT as a bug, compared to other hotels!!!!! The view is literally nothing, just the roof. And the hairdyer overheated TWICE? AFTER BEING USED...
