Very cheap style of interactive experience. 80% of the interaction is based on old touch screen displays with poor responsiveness and bulb projectors from at least a decade ago. It feels like most of the equipment was recycled from a school or something. They could have invested in laser projectors for the amount of money they are raking in. Almost no emphasis on sound which is lacking in creating an atmosphere and immersion.
I feel like someone can get largely the same experience watching movie at home in higher quality. The educational aspect for kids is also better covered in publicly available information you can find on platforms like YouTube. Also worth noting the only water you will touch will be in bathroom sinks and one pool in the center room. No aquariums with real plants (plastic plants in a “relax zone”) or fish.
I think this is an overpriced money grab - food and drinks inside are just as expensive as tickets for entry. There are additional things like a short VR experience inside that they charge additional money for to squeeze even more money out of the wallets of parents visiting with children. For the price of these short VR experiences, you would pay less buying your kids a video game like Subnautica that they can spend several hours in for an arguably better “water...
Read moreHydropolis is a beautifully executed educational museum featuring some spectacular technical art installations and exhibits. It's an educational centre so expect to see large school groups, but there's something here for everyone. The exhibition is about weather phenomena, human water usage, water in human physiology, shipwrecks and oceans, diving and ocean exploration. Virtually all the touch-screen displays - and there are countless - are in Polish and perfect English. There's heaps to read, but most impressive are the projections. The 3D table display dedicated to the river Nile is extremely impressive, as is the panoramic introductory movie. Despite being entirely in Polish, the film's visuals more than cross the language barrier! You can spend 3-4 hours at Hydropolis. There is a small cafe and gift shop, free cloakroom, and make sure you film the amazing water printer in the entranceway! I'd recommend taking the tram from Galleria Dominikanska to Szybka and walking over the river to Na Grobli, just turn right at the end of the footpath. Also nearby is the excellent Japanese Garden (totally worth the entrance fee) and...
Read moreA nice science museum, i am not giving it a 5 star because of the following.
The price i think it is more on the expensive side for what the museum has to over. We visited it with 2 small children so they were bored after 45 mins but i think even if it would have been only us 2 adults we would have not spent more than 1 hour in it.
And the second reason is we encountered a rude member of staff, our kids were enjoying themselves inside a submarine when next to us was a guide giving a tour to a group of school kids, she was very rude on telling us and my kids to get out of the submarine, she could have said please can you guys move aside for a couple of mins as we got a large tour and we would be ok no problem but she was like oh i am giving a guided tour here move which was not nice.
In the other hand the museum is very nice very educational and they have a really cool relaxation zone also a nice cool game for kids.
If they would adjust their pricing to match the time you spend inside we paid about 130 zloty for 2 adults and 2 kids i think 90 would be fair. And sort out some rude staff then this would...
