Cooking Lisbon cannot be trusted. I booked a class and then days before the class, Cooking Lisbon informed me the class had been moved from Tuesday to Wednesday. Then on Monday, Cooking Lisbon informed me the class had been cancelled. I contacted Cooking Lisbon and was told that since I had not confirmed the class on Wednesday, the class had been cancelled. I informed Cooking Lisbon I had received an email stating my reservation for the class on Wednesday was confirmed. I asked why I needed to confirm the class when their email stated my reservation was confirmed. Cooking Lisbon could not answer my question. So typical. Blame the customer. I had rearranged my visit to Lisbon so that I could take the class on Wednesday. I spent the next day contacting other cooking classes. I explained my situation that Cooking Lisbon had cancelled at the last moment and could they please add 1 more to their class. Unfortunately, they were all full. Some did say they were not surprised Cooking Lisbon had cancelled the class. Do yourself a favor. Find a more reliable and professional cooking class than Cooking Lisbon to avoid having your class cancelled.

Let me see if I understand. Cooking Lisbon showed no concern for how their decision would impact me when they cancelled the cooking class. I had planned this trip to take a cooking class. When the class was cancelled, I was not able to find another one on such short notice. They were full. I departed Lisbon unable to experience my cooking class. But the owner wants me to show concern for his business because my comments may harm the reputation of his business. If I understand what he saying, it is OK for him to show me no concern, but I am suppose to show concern for him. If there was ever a better example of a business that does not care how their decision will impact...

We had a fantastic night - if not the best night of our vacation - in this class. At first, we started off with cheese, chorizo and other small bites along with wine (there was plenty of wine throughout all of the night). Then, we were introduced to the ingredients and their continual significance. We were told that in basically every class, codfish is prepared and served. After that, we finally got to cooking. The chef quizzed us lightheartedly about techniques and ingredients and then picked people to perform certain tasks. Everyone got to engage and help prepare prepare our dinner, which we later plated and ate together while having conversations. Our group consisted of people with diverse cultural backgrounds, which made dinner conversations very interesting! After teaching us about the dishes during class, our chef told us a bit about himself while we were dining. Overall, we do not regret going at all and had an easy time getting to know other people, which is why I think even solo travelers would enjoy this class. The price is totally fair considering a cooking class with several dishes, bottomless wine, and an extensive dinner are covered. There are no hidden costs, however, our chef got a well deserved tip for the incredible effort he put into this thoughtfully put...

We took the Market Tour with Cooking Class in October 2023 and had a great time. The covered market was a short walk away, and fun to explore. Lots of fish and vegetables, and some meat, breads, and cheese. Our instructor, Carina, arranged to provide samples of some Portuguese specialties at the meat, bread, and cheese stalls, all very good.

Back at the classroom, we divided into four groups to start preparing our meal. Carina explained that the Portuguese don’t like to cook on an empty stomach, so we started with a great snack including warm chorizo, cheeses, olives, bread, and wine. The meal we cooked included steamed mussels, gazpacho, and cataplana with fish and shrimp. The excellent meal was served with plenty of bread and wine, and followed by an outstanding orange roll cake made in class. Following the class, we received recipes for dishes we prepared, plus some bonus recipes as well.

The class was one of the highlights of our visit to Lisbon. We had a great time. We highly...

An unforgettable experience! We did the Portuguese Cooking Class (there were a total of 8 people in the group, which was perfect) and had an amazing timing cooking, learning, and getting to know other members of the group. The ingredients were of excellent quality, and Carina was an outstanding teacher. She kept the whole group engaged, while providing fun details about Portuguese history and culture. One note, however, from the website we expected we would be making three dishes: caldo verde, bacalhau, and Pastel de Nata. We ended up learning/making five dishes but Pastel de Nata was not one (they offer a separate class on this). Overall - an outstanding and memorable evening! There’s plenty of food and wine (you will NOT leave hungry or thirsty), and you’ll receive recipes for the dishes you made (and many more) to try again later on your own. Highly recommend and we will certainly plan to come attend another class when we are back in Lisbon!!

One of the most beautiful experiences in Lisbon – a memory for a lifetime! Taking part in this cooking class was absolutely wonderful, authentic, and unforgettable. With a fantastic atmosphere and amazing hosts, we learned how to prepare traditional Portuguese dishes with love and passion. Along the way, we met lovely people from all over the world – fellow food lovers and fans of Portuguese culture. From the very first moment to the last bite, everything was organized with warmth, professionalism, and heart. It was truly a pleasure to be part of this experience – and we would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for something special and local. Highly recommended! 🇵🇹✨
