This was an unexpected start to our month long visit to Portugal with the first week dedicated to Lisboa. From first communication to walking into the suite it has been nothing but top notch. Responses to bed preference, early arrival, parking options everything has been dealt with promptly and courteous. The staff have been exceptionally good. Professional, but friendly and very helpful. Service has clearly been instilled as a trademark for this boutique hotel. The owner has converted an office building into a charming, but modern, ten suite facility. The suites have everything you need for any length of stay. It is modern with everything upgraded, yet the bed and pullout are very comfortable. For cooking there are a fridge, microwave, induction stove top, coffee maker, toaster and a dishwasher. The kitchen is very well equipped. You couldn’t ask for a better bathroom layout or water pressure for the shower. Finally there are no shortage of high tech features from electronic lock, two smart TVs, and more plugs than I’ve ever seen in a suite. And did I mention separate AC/heater units for common area and bedroom. ||The hotel has a great roof top bar/ restaurant with great staff. There is a coffee shop and some grab and go type meals. You are never more than two blocks to any form of public transportation from bus, tram or metro. And a variety of cuisines within a four block area. ||I will...
Read moreWe booked a 3 day stay in September 2024. We received confirmatory emails etc. We arrived around 8.30pm and waited half an hour for the man doing the checkin to arrive. When we were in the apartment doing the checkin he suddenly informed us that this apartment had also been booked to someone else who had paid upfront and therefore we could not stay. We said we had a valid booking but eventually agreed that he had to find us somewhere else to stay and we would go. After trying to book us into a backpackers hostel which had terrible reviews he said he had booked us into the Iconic near the railway station. We agreed to go there and were sent in an Uber. On arrival there was no booking and the hotel was fully booked. They checked with their sister hotel next door (Eurostars) who had spare rooms where we agreed to stay as otherwise the option seemed to be to sleep on the street. It cost nearly the same for one night in a room where the WiFi worked erratically than it would have done for 3 nights at Conde 13. ||The manager at Conde 13 was not available and did not respond to a call next day. I believe he was called Rafael.||booking.com does not give the facility to post a review though they send us numerous reminders to post a review usually following a stay at a hotel booked through them so there is no indication on their web site that this sort of things happen at this...
Read moreThe best thing I can say about, is the people, the staff of the hotel. They’re kind to the guests from the first step. Always helpful. Other story is relation to our small friends, the are really like them, kind and ready to offer something snacky. The breakfast is perfect, big portions, always fresh and tasty. My room was really big, with everything you need in. Free water and room menu with affordable prices.
But I want to mention the staff again and owner Raphael himself. We checked out, by the evening we already were in Madrid. When I entered my house I got the call that I forgot pockets in the room, with documents, money and credit cards inside. All the staff really cared, by the late time of the day I was in contact with the owner, he assured me that I don’t need to worry. And he will take the safety of the documents as his personal case, and he really did. I called the courier, and next day already got my stuff packed and safe. The owner by himself filmed all the process and sent it to me. He didn’t have to, but he did. It’s was so unusual for me. I travel a lot and was in a lot of places, but here I meet the best staff and people who really love why they’re doing.
My best recommendation to stay in Conde13. My opinion was 5/5 before I realised the lost, but after everything, if I could I...
