📍 “Delicious Food, Amazing Service & Stunning Ocean Views in Porto 🌊🍷”
After arriving in Porto and checking into our hotel at Four Points by Sheraton, we decided to have a relaxing meal at Vagas, and it turned out to be one of our best dining experiences in Portugal!
Located right by Matosinhos Beach, this place offers stunning ocean views, fresh seafood, and top-notch service. The weather was chilly and windy, so we chose indoor seating, which was warm, cozy, and still had a great ocean view!
What We Ordered & Experience 🍽
✔ Chicken Pesto Fettuccine – Creamy, rich pesto sauce with perfectly cooked pasta. ✔ Cod Fish Salvatore – A must-try! Fresh, flaky cod with bold flavors—one of the best we had in Portugal! ✔ Red Sangria – Fruity, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. ✔ Quinta do Cume Douro Wine – We got to taste it before choosing—huge plus! Smooth, rich, and paired perfectly with our meal.
Service & Hospitality – A Perfect 10! 🌟
✔ A-Star Service! Our attendant was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home. ✔ Wine Tasting Before Ordering? Yes, Please! – They offered us free wine tastings before we selected our bottle—a fantastic touch! ✔ Fast, Attentive, & Professional – Despite the restaurant being a bit busy, the service was quick and smooth.
Pricing & Value for Money 💰
✔ Mid-Range Pricing – Not the cheapest, but absolutely worth it for the quality, service, and atmosphere.
Atmosphere & Ambience 🏡
✔ Stunning Ocean Views – Even from indoors, the beachfront location made the experience extra special. ✔ Cozy & Warm Indoors – The restaurant had a great balance of a relaxed yet upscale vibe.

Vegas Restaurant in Porto offers a delightful experience that beautifully balances atmosphere, comfort, and accessibility. Perched in a spot that boasts some of the city’s finest views, the restaurant is especially known for its sunset scenery. Even on a cloudy day like today, when the skies muted the usual golden tones, the location retained its charm. The horizon over Porto still provided a serene backdrop that made the visit feel special and memorable, proving that the setting itself is worth the stop.
The ambiance inside is equally impressive. The design strikes a harmonious mix of elegance and warmth, creating an inviting environment whether you come alone, with friends, or for a more intimate occasion. Soft lighting, well-spaced tables, and a gentle buzz of activity make it easy to settle in and enjoy your time without feeling rushed.
One of the standout aspects of Vegas Restaurant is its coffee collection. The menu offers a wide range, from classic espressos to more nuanced specialty brews, each presented with care. It’s clear the team places genuine attention on quality, making this a great spot not only for dining but also for those who appreciate a thoughtful coffee experience.
Equally important is the restaurant’s accessibility. Thoughtfully designed entrances, seating arrangements, and pathways ensure that all guests can move around comfortably, which makes the place welcoming to a broad audience.
Overall, despite today’s cooler, cloudier weather, Vegas Restaurant Porto delivered a memorable experience with its stunning location, excellent coffee, and...

Ordered a few drinks and some chips (which never arrived at our table). Proceeded to drink for half an hour before I noticed the female waitress laughing with two girls (who had just walked in and were asking to be seated) whilst pointing and looking directly at us. I’m not stupid and knew they were laughing at my partner who was half laying down on the sofa next to me (which seems a reasonable thing to do in a spacious beach bar on a very hot afternoon). The waitress came over and asked my partner not to lay down on the sofa (which only her upper half was slightly laying to one side, with feet on the ground). My partner politely said ‘sure, no problem’ and sat up. However, the waitress (once back with the two female visitors stood at the entrance) proceeded to continue laughing at us. I was surprised at how a middle aged female staff member found it so amusing that a paying customer in a beach bar would have a leisurely lay down on a sofa whilst sipping a Sangria. After this initial peculiar outburst of amusement the waitress then asked my partner and I if the two girls could sit on the other sofa opposite us (which we had no problem with). Eventually my partner and I found it too uncomfortable to have our personal space invaded by such negative energy and decided to pay and leave.
I hope she realises how embarrassing it is for her (at her ripe old age) to find something so irrelevant so amusing. Her mental age is clearly some way behind her...
