Westbay Beach — Attraction in Doha

The beach was quite crowded, but I appreciated that the staff informed us beforehand that there might be no umbrellas or chairs left, so it was up to us to decide — and I really liked that honesty. There are plenty of food options available, and there’s even an indoor area with air conditioning, which is great for taking a break from the heat.

Entry was 35 QR which is about 8.25 EUR. This includes the use of sunbeds and umbrellas. Clean Beach and the water was so nice and warm. There's plenty of food options at the beach for decent prices.

I went alone as a woman (solo traveller) and didn't feel unsafe or anything for the most part. I do have to point out there was one guy that was bothering me. This is not the Westbay Beach to swim. The "real" beach to swim is accessible only via the official entrance gate, which is north of the French embassy, maybe 300 meters and which is with opening hours and has an entrance fee as common to the "real" beaches in Westbay. This spot is just an empty piece of gravel and no swimming opportunity. No chance to "slip through" to Westbay Beach, a guard is taking care..
