Elements West Bay Doha is a great hotel situated in the heart of West Bay, very close to the West Bay beaches and right opposite the West Bay mosque. It's about a 5 - 10 minute walk to the City Center Mall and a 20 minute walk to the DECC metro station.
The hotel and room were very nice. I was very kindly upgraded from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom apartment. The room was huge and very spacious.
Breakfast was really good also. Some previous reviews had us worried as there were mixed reviews about what was available. It was a continental breakfast, and a very substantial one at that. There were many varieties of pastries, breads, fruit, yogurts, cereals and a selection of cold meats. Tea, coffee, juices and smoothies were also available. Plenty for everyone. There is also a small hot breakfast section that had scrambled eggs and an additional hot dish that changes each day. Omelettes, waffles and pancakes are available at an additional cost of QR10.
There is a swimming pool on the top floor, as well as a gym and spa (Spa may require additional charges, but we didn't use the spa).
Staff were very friendly and helpful and housekeeping were very prompt with any requests and cleanliness was great. They also provide you with plenty of complimentary bottles of water to keep you hydrated and replenish the stock when you get the room cleaned.
There was complimentary WiFi in the room and it was very good coverage and great speeds.
There were a few a few minor nitpicks about the hotel, but nothing too major. We arrived pretty early and it would have been great to get an early check in, but this wasn't available. Normal check in times are 3pm, but our room wasn't ready till about 3:30pm, which was inconvenient, but not too much of an issue. If you're arriving on an early flight, I'd recommend booking the night before. We didn't because of the additional cost, but I would do it in future.
The 4 bedroom apartment that we had was very large. So much so, that it could do with some rugs to make it nicer to walk through. They do give you slippers to wear inside the room, but the hard flooring wasn't the greatest for that homely feeling.
There is a washing machine in the room, but there isn't a dryer. Whilst the air conditioning did have a heat setting, it didn't work and I was told that it's not available. This meant that it took slightly longer to dry the washed clothes on cold air conditioning. Not too much of an issue, but something to note, especially for the winter months as it can get slightly chilly in the evenings. There are also no windows that can be opened or a balcony, so you don't have any access to fresh air from the room.
Something that was rather annoying, but out of control is that everyday, there is a big tanker that comes right outside the hotel to pump out the sewage water. It takes anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes for this to complete, but it's a really loud and very annoying noise. It tends to take place early evenings on most days, which was fine as we were normally out, but the first time we noticed it, was at 1am in the morning, which definitely woke us up. I'm guessing that there isn't a sewage piping system underground and so this is necessary, but useful to know as we had no clue what the noise was!
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel had great facilities, nice breakfast, good location and very friendly staff on hand to help. I would highly...
Read moreI am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the cleaning services and overall amenities provided. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. Firstly, the cleanliness standards were subpar, as I encountered dirty towels and bathroom robes with stains and visible dirt. This not only reflects poorly on the hotel's hygiene but also raises concerns about the overall quality of service. Moreover, every time I have to call the receptionist to get my basic amenities such as soap, which should have been readily available in the room. This unnecessary inconvenience added to the disappointment of my stay. On another occasion, I couldn't find my deodorant, and the covers provided were consistently either stained or had holes. These issues contribute to a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for guest comfort. The only good part about this hotel is the Staff. I would like to acknowledge the commendable dedication and helpfulness demonstrated by the front desk staff Especially Haifa shaima and Mohamed. Their kindness and proactive efforts to find solutions were the highlight of my experience, and I extend my sincere thanks to them. However, I feel compelled to address certain shortcomings in the cleaning services provided. Despite the exceptional service from the front desk, issues with cleanliness persist, impacting the overall guest experience. I kindly request that the management takes proactive steps to elevate the level of cleaning services and ensure a more enjoyable and comfortable stay for all guests. Your attention to this matter is appreciated, and I trust that improvements in cleaning services will contribute to enhancing the overall...
Read moreMy stay at Element West Bay was well below my expectations, especially for a Bonvoy Titanium member accustomed to Doha’s exceptional hospitality. Having previously praised Marriott’s service standards in Doha, this experience was a stark contrast poor service from arrival to departure, with no regard for loyalty status or basic guest comfort. ||The Issues:|1. Check-In & Room Problems* | - No upgrade despite visible availability (excuse: "busy"). | - Booked a beach view, got a city view on a low floor. | - Promised a room change "when available," but took over week to finally change my room after I went to see them and tell them No one contact me for room change. Even then, I waited an entire day for the switch. ||2. Housekeeping Chaos| - Ignored requests for service before 3 PM (critical for my meetings). | - Inconsistent timing showed up randomly, disrupting my schedule. ||3. Zero Appreciation for Loyalty | - No recognition as a Titanium member—no welcome gesture, no proactive service recovery. | - Front desk and management indifferent to concerns. ||The Only Positive: |The restaurant staff (hostess and waiters) were polite and professional. If only the rest of the team mirrored their attitude. ||Final Thoughts:|For a month-long stay, this was inexcusable. I kept hoping for improvement, but nothing changed Marriott usually delivers world-class service in Doha, but Element West Bay failed on every level. I won’t return, and I caution fellow travellers especially Bonvoy elites to manage expectations. I am even thinking of cutting my stay short and go...
