We really had a mixed experience at this restaurant due to a really unpleasant situation with one of the manager (Walter). Here is the full story: my girlfriend booked a table to celebrate my birthday mentioning the special occasion at the staff. At the arrival we left one small cake at the reception asking them to keep in the fridge in order to be served later on.
The dinner itself was good, food was nice (Italian opinion) and the location very charming even though some soft music would be better instead of total silence.
The problem came when we ordered some wine and we asked to have our little cake served. After some time this abovementioned manager (Walter), also mentioned in other reviews as "the small bald guy with glasses", came at our table in an EXTREMELY rude manner blaming us with loud voice that we broke Cipriani rule bringing some external food inside the premise embarrassing me and my girlfriend in front of everyone.
First of all I'm a paying customer and I'm not requested to know Cipriani's rules especially when no one told us anything before (when booking and when we delivered the cake at the entrance!), secondly I really want to understand how this guy can be in hospitality business with such an attitude towards the guests. Even you are enforcing a policy there is a way to do it and this is totally against any customer care and hospitality standard!
Moreover he didn't really offered any solution and when I told him then I cancel also the wine order he immediately left us and addressed one waiter telling him to cancel and bring the bill. This was absolutely the worst experience I had in a restaurant acknowledged also by other guests that they were shocked as well ; we felt really disrespected and unwelcomed in a day that we long awaited for to celebrate. My girlfriend was also feeling guilty she booked here cause the party was ruined.
Luckily on the bright side, attracted by the situation two other managers came (Gianluca and Ismail); after explaining the situation they sincerely apologized and were extremely professional to propose some welcomed solutions to continue our dinner and make our night memorable. Till we left they really took care of us in all the details even exceeding their duties delivering a really amazing experience.
Those are the people that a brand like Cipriani needs to value and promote; it was really thanks to them that you didn't lose some customer and we will come back again. On the other side I really think some actions needs to be taken towards this Walter that is really bringing a shadow to your brand (refer to other reviews as well) and I really would like not to see him again in your premises.

Read moreI had the most disappointing experience at Cipriani Doha, and it all stemmed from a terrible encounter with the head manager, Walker. I initially had a table inside but asked if I could switch to an outdoor table. The first excuse I was given was that I couldn’t, despite the fact that ALL the outdoor tables were available. Then, Walker claimed that outdoor seating was only for families with babies – completely irrelevant to my request.
The outdoor area, which is supposed to be a smoking section, wasn’t even clearly communicated as such. If it’s known to be a smoking area, customers should be informed beforehand. I went outside to double-check and saw two men sitting right next to a family with a baby, smoking cigarettes. So much for the excuse!
Not only was Walker completely unprofessional, but his attitude was beyond rude. The lack of hospitality was astounding. Cipriani Doha should be ashamed to have someone like him managing the place. I won’t be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values good service and respect.
