"Peste un râu foarte mare Şi repede curgător Vrând să treacă oarecare Scump, de argint iubitor, Mergând pe pod, cum să pare, Unde-a călcat, n-a văzut, C-atât s-a-mpiedicat tare, Cât drept în râu a căzut. Ş-începu să strige-n apă: "Aoleu! mă înec! mor! Vino, lume, de mă scapă, Da-mi mână de ajutor!" Un pescar, din întâmplare, Care aci s-a aflat Spre acestui scăpare Degrab’ în râu s-aruncat, Şi cu multă osteneală Spre el tare înotând, L-a ajuns ca-ntr-o clipeală, Coraj dându-şi strigând: "Dă-mi mâna încoaci mai tare, Întinde-o mai în grab’, Să te scap de înecare.
