Quite possibly the best steak experience in Bucharest. The restaurant is separate from the Hotel and as you come in you get to understand why you're in for a treat as they have matured cuts of meat directly exposed. They serve romanian, creekstone (US) and wagyu a5 steaks. Prices are indeed a bit steep but definitely 100% worth it! We went for romanian steaks, medium temperature, with truffle mash potatoes and asparagus. We went for funghi sauces which were absolutely delicious. Steaks are quite big (500g each, depending on the cut). You can go all the way up to a 1700g Tomahawk (for 2 or 3 people). I think they also have a 200-300g cut (NY strip type). Waiting time to get our steaks wasn't too long. We went for dessert also, we got the dark chocolate with crème brulé inside and a pistachio cake. Needless to say that these were absolutely sublime. Now about the staff, we were welcomed by the manager, Traian who made us feel welcome and helped us with the many cuts of meat and wine selection. We also met Ionut (Johnny) who helped us in picking the right desserts and spoke to us about the place's evolution (as it is a newly opened restaurant, less than a year). Thank you both, Traian and Ionut! Will attach some pictures below however these really do not make enough justice to this place's...
Read moreI'm always in search for good restaurants in Bucharest, and Bavette was on my list for a while now.So today, I took my husband and said "let's try it".It's a good thing when you start off on the right foot, because they have private parking and even though it might be full, you can still park.Beside that, there is plenty of street parking. We didn't know if the restaurant was going to be busy, so i booked 30 minutes ahead on ialoc app, for lunch, but when we got there it was empty. So it's possible to go without reservation. The restaurant is pretty, spacious, quiet, with good music on a decent volume, clean, very nicely decorated and well kept. We ordered guacamole shrimp, beef hummus, wagyu beef, truffle mashed potatoes, fries (natural!!!), truffle pasta, pistachio cake (wonderful, smooth, fresh, it was perfect, not too sweet and not heavy), nugat cake, cheesecake, a bottle of red wine, one water, one espresso, and everything was 250 eur (about 1250 ron). The portions are big (we couldn't finish any of them) and everything was delicious! So if you ask me, the prices are fair. The staff was great, communicative, very friendly and quick to respond to our requests. I totally recommend this place! It's quiet, beautiful, great food,...
Read moreIt was an absolute delight! The risotto with chorizo and turkey was an incredible discovery. I'm pretty sure it's my new favorite dish.
My wife was equally impressed with her wagyu steak, served alongside some tasty smashed potatoes with truffle.
What truly made the evening special was our waiter, Johnnie. He was so kind and helpful. To top it all off, he even recited a poem for us at the end of the meal, which was a lovely and...
