I really like this park and I'm glad we ended up living nearby with the kids. It's well-kept and has a great variety of plants, but it still feels natural - like a carefully tended, picturesque forest. The terrain is not flat either; gentle hills give it a nice, almost three-dimensional landscape that you rarely see in the city.
There are a few downsides, though. In the summer, when it gets really hot, the park service doesn't seem to pay enough attention to it, and by midsummer, some parts of the park are burnt and dry. Some trees have died - the pine trees are so charred that they'll probably be cut down this year.
I don't know if it's technically difficult. But it's a shame about the trees, which are many years old.
I don't think the park needs any modernization. Yes, it still looks like it did in the 1990s or 2000s, and of course the stairs and paths are outdated. But I would prefer if they invested in proper irrigation. A good example is TEI Park, which has a watering system and does not turn into a dry garden in the summer.
Overall, it is a lovely, cozy park with few visitors. It is well maintained - but, strangely, it still suffers from...
Read moreIt has a lot of attractions: 3 playgrounds, one field for (handball, basketball, football), a lake full of ducks and seagulls and vegetation, as well as the park itself, having a lot of grass, flowers and all sort of trees. The park has a lot of paths, some of witch are made of mud and dust. There are two places in which the dogs can play, they are easy to spot, and for the ones that want to buy some popcorn, ice-cream there are 3 shops at one of the entrance, though it's expensive and maybe not worth the cost. Including the fact that there is a circus in the center where you can go and see a play, it's a good place to hide from the rain. There are great places where you can have a picnic, though there are a lot of bugs in the grass. After all, this is a perfect park for the people that want to chill or want to...
Read moreNice park, great for walls, picnics, going to a Circus show (great for kids) and overall one of the nicest parks in Bucharest. Full of green (grass, trees), very well maintained and during late summer and autumn you can see some rare lotuses (species that can be found in Japan and in the Nile delta). Also a lot of wild life (fish, tortoises and birds in the lake are), squirrels, hedgehogs and other small animals in the park. Overall, a very nice place to relax. You can also find toilets and some vendors with quick bites. An aspect to improve is to create special sections for bikes and runners as this can be a challenge for the people walking...
