My mom and I was at IMM Giant this afternoon intending to purchase some mandarin oranges. At the entrance, there is a small counter selling mandarin oranges and it was stated there 'no sorting'. But at another bigger counter near the fresh food section which was manned by a young lady and an Indian man in his 40s. We saw quite a few customers sorting the oranges. We then approached the young lady asking if we could sort the oranges ourselves which she agrees. She then handed us 2 boxes of oranges. After sorting, we find that 50% of the oranges are spoiled. We approached the Indian man for help asking him to bring us one more box. That is when the whole commotion starts. He became so agitated and rude. He was shouting very loudly saying "How many boxes you want? You all keep sorting like that I cannot finish my work. I rather sort for you all!" Probably because the previous few customers did the same thing. After that, he ignored our request and continue to sort the oranges for his 'customers'. I know where he is coming from and understand his predicament but if he had told us or other customers that no sorting then this thing would not have happened. But then again he could not said that because he himself has violated the rule of 'no sorting' by sorting the oranges for his 'customers'. His customers is customers. Aren't we customers too? His voice was so loud that the nearby customers are asking what happened. That's totally...

I am utterly impressed with the unexpected albeit excellent service rendered by a specific associate Norain from Giant@Greenridge and I am inclined to write in because she truly deserves a mention. I was at my wits' end after placing an online order for 30 x Thai Top Cut coconuts was confirmed but got cancelled a day before my daughter's engagement. Clearly the inventory count was blindingly laikadaisical to say the least. Instead of gesticulating alternative option I was pounded with an obscure inexplicable response of 'Sorry we do not have stock available' narrative from one online customer service agent to another which beggars my belief that this was the only script they have on hand as part of their inept training tool. Norain however hovers above the rest with her intervention when I called up and she arduously went out of her way to listen and understand my situation. She managed to reserve a carton and even sourced other outlets for available stock - personally I would have still written in even if there was no more just for her miniscule-yet-humongous gesture to me! Special thanks too to Goo also from Giant@Woodlands North Plaza for his effort to keep some for me in my desperate moment. My genuine appreciations once again Norain for salvaging my...

GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (doing business as Giant Hypermarket) is a hypermarket and retailer chain in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia,Cambodia, and Vietnam. In 2016, Giant is the largest supermarket chain in Malaysia. Giant was founded in 1944 as a small grocery store in Kuala Lumpur, and expanded with the opening of the Teng Minimarket Centre in Bangsar in 1974.[5] In 1999, Dairy Farm International Holdings bought a 90% interest in the chain, with the Teng family retaining the balance.[6] By 2003, the holding company for the chain had changed its name to Dairy Farm Giant Retail Sdn Bhd, and the chain had eight Giant hypermarkets and 10 supermarkets as well as three Cold Storage supermarkets. Today, the company operates as a subsidiary of Dairy Farm International Holdings Limited and the name was changed to GCH Retail (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

Not sure if Gaint is serious with their business. How can a super market provide such lousy trolleys for their customers use? Giant trolleys got wheels that do not move, wheels that don't turn, wheels that made lots of noises when you push along. Their trolleys even took 2 coins and refuse to " return", worst of all , plenty of mucus on the handles, very unhygienic. As I have already experienced twice of trolley not returning my coins, I seek help from CS after a long queue which is a waste of time, just to get back my coins. Also, returning the trolleys prove another challenge, the trolleys would not allow another trolleys to be pushed in, hence unable to return to take back the coins. Don't bothered to call the hp number at the CS counter, nobody ever pick up. What is the use to tell who to look for when the hp number never get pick up.

Renovations or something but the fluorescent lights are not helping with the store vitality. Look at ntuc, it has a more welcoming vibe compared to giant IMM. Gloomy feeling and yes let’s talk about prices. Don’t believe everything that is on promotion. Two bottles of magiclean in Singapore cost 8.45 sgd while two bottles of magiclean in aeon Bukit indah Johor Bahru cost 9.99/3 * 2 = 6.60 sgd. so, how is it a promotion when it is almost 2 dollars more expensive? Is IMM giant still keeping prices affordable remains questionable. The clothing shelves are also overly priced compared to shopee. I left empty handed, thanks for free parking for the first hour.
