Cost $28 for this. Price was not written anywhere in the store lol. Mala soup was pretty alright with no bits and pieces of unplesant spices like the peppercorns that you can bite into. Really can taste the 麻 and 辣. There was a wide variety of ingredients.

Some ingredients like the mini white fishcake and the flat fishcake thing tasted sour and rancid though. Bamboo clams were SO FISHY and gross.

The service was trash. The cashier was alright, but the kitchen staff slammed the bowl onto the collection counter and stared at me with dagger eyes lol. I thought he was joking so I smiled and took my food but dude maintained that RBF HAHAHA. Whatever. Slightly disappointed that the ingredients labelled "fried only" were cooked into the soup. Was looking forward to eat the fried stuffs with the soup. Disappointed. It was not written anywhere that we have to request for it nor did the cashier staff asked us if we want to have the "fried only" ingredients fried lol. The staffs were sweeping the floor right after I finished my meal and the uncle sweeped my feet and the broom was wet omg. Damn disgusting urgh. I just took my bags and told my sister that we needed to leave immediately. Went to the bathroom to wash my feet asap. Probably would...

Patronised a number of times and encountered a myriad of problems, and have since decided not to go there anymore.

  1. Items always not replenished.
  2. On two of my visits, the same staff mixed up my order with another customer's. Same mistake on different occasions, feels like there's no service standards that they try to uphold.
  3. Went on a weekday off peak timing once (3pm ish) with maybe about 3 other tables of patrons, but my dish took 30 mins to be cooked. I went up to the prep station and found out that they were only using 1 out of 6 stove tops they had. On top of that the staff cooking didn't seem to be able to multitask. Super inefficient.
  4. On the day (off peak period) that my order took 30mins to be prepared, I saw them cooking a meal for another of their staff before they prepared mine.

Don't waste your time here, have your...

Really glad they opened this outlet after closing the westgate one. This is still my fav mala soup shop. Taste is still consistently good. Service is really courteous as well. Large spread of ingredients and they have a lot more different soup bases here (esp non spicy ones). Spiciness of the soup at this outlet is a bit less so can go for one level more spicy than usual! Medium is not spicy for people who can handle chilli.

New place is quite spacious and comfortable. They don't have a lot of staff and I think they can only cook 2 bowls at once, so during peak hours you might have to wait...

Been here for the third time. For the first visit, I had their mala tang which was not bad. The second visit I had the dry version with sesame sauce. Something about the sauce does not goes well with me and I am unable to finish my portion . On my third visit, I had their tomato soup which is nice and goes well with the ingredients (except for the satay sausage, which will be nice in a barbeque setting). The pork belly I took had a bit of smell to it unlike fresher pork. Place is clean and well maintained.
