Visited on a weekday during dinner time. The restaurant was nearly full, but it didn’t feel overwhelmingly busy. Unfortunately, service was quite slow and inattentive. I had to raise my hand and wait about 5–10 minutes before any staff noticed and took my order.

Food quality was below average, which was disappointing given the reputation.

Payment experience was frustrating. An older staff member (around age 50+) insisted I return to my table to retrieve the receipt stickered on the wall, even after I clearly stated my table number. In most modern establishments, orders are retrieved directly from the system—this extra step seemed unnecessary.

The restaurant offers a GrabPay option with a 10% discount, which many customers were using. This staff member seemed unfamiliar with the process and was visibly slow. After I completed payment, she asked me to repeat the reference number several times. A younger staff member eventually stepped in, quickly confirmed the payment, and resolved the situation. The older staff then made a passive-aggressive remark like, “I’m not young like you to know these things well.” If she isn’t comfortable with digital payments, perhaps another team member should handle them to avoid delays. Customers were waiting in line for over 10 minutes just to pay, with each transaction taking about 3 minutes.

This was my first and likely last visit to...

Unfair waiting time.

Made an effort to wait outside the restaurant before it's opening hour. 1st walk in customer and managed to place an order at 11:05am, was informed by the staff that the order preparation time is about 15 mins,

Went back to the restaurant at 11:20am, was informed by the staff that it'll take another 5-10 mins. Check again at 11:30am, was informed by the staff that it'll take another 5-10 mins. When will the waiting time ends??

In the end, I've managed to collect my food only at around 11:50am. That's an absurd 45 mins of waiting time. In the mean time, online orders are being fulfilled for Grab/Food Panda orders.

It's not as if our order of 7-8 items are alot. I've seen riders taking big packets of take away as well.

Aren't walk in customer your customer too? Are we suppose to use only Grab/Deliveroo/Food Panda and forget about walking in to place orders?

If the riders has short waiting time due to parking concern, what about walk in customers like us? Why do you want to treat us as 2nd class customer and prepare our order with lower priority?

If you'll inform me that it'll take 45 mins, instead of the initial 15 mins, I'll have taken my order elsewhere. it's not as if that if I don't eat your food, I'll be a lesser human being.

2nd time here but seems like food quality has dropped significantly within a 1 month span.

Ordered samsui chicken and olive rice both times, same sized portion also. Chicken: portion has gotten significantly smaller. olive rice: amazing and full of olive oil the 1st time we tried, 2nd time we ate few days ago barely had any olive oil, was just dry and quite tasteless tbh. ginseng pork soup: soup was overly bitter and pork was completely rock hard cannot be eaten at all

✨BE CAREFUL OF “FREE” FRIED FISH SKIN✨ When we sat down the staff immediately placed a bowl of fried fish skin and told us they were giving us taster for the fish skin. We didn’t touch as we dunno need pay or not. Only when ask thne they say need pay for it. Wts! If you’re gna be putting food on the table pls be clear on whether you’re going to people for free or not and don’t mask it as taster to hopefully get more sales from such unethical tactics. When I told staff dunwan coz I dun even eat fish staff also gave a Wts face lol…

Bad experience the 2nd time here.

Pls bring back previous chef and staff OR pls get your SOP and staff standards/restaurant...

Before moving to their new, more prominent location, they were by the lift lobby which always makes me question what kind of establishment it was. We visited Tea House just because they serve dim sum. The 60% off the Samsui Ginger chicken was a plus. Soup Restaurant is a household name by now, having outlets at mega malls such as NEX and Vivocity. What's interesting is that Tea House caters for us Hong Kongers who loves a good dim sum lunch. The food didn't disappoint. An interesting Samsui Ginger Bao uses their signature 姜蓉 with minced chicken becomes our favourite bao. I'm not used to eating the Samsui Chicken with the lettuce wrap but I'll take it. My mum knows I can wipe clean the 姜蓉 she makes at home. We really need to eat the lychee prawn ball that is sitting in the freezer for a year now. The food is promising and we will definitely be back again. We saw a set lunch option during our visit. Looking back at the menu online, it seems the menu given to us wasn't so extensive. Don't remember seeing the water chestnut fritters, the tofu/egg choices and the ginger fried rice? Because I would DEFINITELY get that!

This place is easily missable, walked one whole round of level 1 and didnt notice I passed by it... its ridiculous how its camouflaged by the other stores. Not a conducive place to chat while eating as the waiters keep clanging the cutlery when keeping the dishes and the sound just reverbs throughout the restaurant. Would like to comment how funny it was their soup bowl is even smaller than their rice bowl, which was already small enough, about the size of a petit woman's palm. How do you expect people to drink from the bowls with ingredients in it? White rice was so little, served in a small lil tiny bowl. Ordered their 2 pax chicken set on the front of the menu thinking its their signature dish but the chicken and the cucumber are horrible. Not fresh and super dry. It was 35++ for that chicken and soup. Not worth it. Paid 77 for 2 pax for the whole dinner (included an extra tray of siew mai and fried fish) At the end noticed people only come here for the dimsum. But there are better dimsums out there.
