Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village — Attraction in City Centre

Cape Quarter parking is a well known Hotspot for car thieves. On Friday, 28 June 2024, between 15:55 & 17:05 I parked in bay D5 which is in full sight of passing traffic and upon return I had all my belongs stolen from my vehicle.

There were plenty of mall security but they seemed to be not interested and eluded to CCTV footage being unavailable.

I have subsequently opened a police case and will be pursuing this as we cannot condone this type of incidents occurring at this frequency at a facility that caters to this LSM.

It appears that my incident is not isolated and these car thieves have been operating in the mall for a number of years yet it still occurs. Had I known this about the mall prior I certainly would not have come to the mall with anything inside my vehicle.

A nice little mall in the heart of Cape Towns vibey Waterkant neighborhood. The Cape Quarter Lifestyle village consists of TWO shopping areas. The bigger Cape Quarter Square on Somerset St, and the smaller but much nicer Cape Quarter PIAZZA, just across on the corner of Dixon and Waterkant Street. The bigger Cape Quarter Square has a nice Spar, but be sure to rather head across the street to the Cape Quarter Piazza. It is more cozy with an European feel, with good restaurants like La Petit Tarte (great coffee shop with the best cakes in Cape Town), Andiamo (Pizzas & Pasta), Cape Malay Foodcourt (authentic Malay Food), Lindt Shop (great specials on chocolates!!!), cute shops like the stunning African Nova (high end ceramics etc), the super cute Baraka Gifts & Decor (affordable and interesting gifts), an antique shop, a perfumery, art and photography shops, a dentist and a hairdresser. Great vibe. Be sure to wonder along Waterkant St and Loader Street with its historic and colorful houses. We love this area so much that we bought a house here!...
