After a long exhausting day, we decided to quickly pop into the Relish Bistro, across from the Urology Hospital where my dad had just been admitted, to have dinner.

Unfortunately, not the best experience I've had... Not even a good experience.

Not everyone has the scan function on their phone. So if you advise me to scan the code for the menu, do not question when I tell you no. If I wasn't as tired and hungry (had not eaten all day), I would have gotten up and left. Yes, we are in covid, so use sanitiser to clean the menu when I request 1. If I must sanitise my hands before entering your establishment, surely you can sanitise a menu? The restaurant was really not that busy, so unsure why everything took a long time.... Our food was cold. My mother's baked potato was ice cold - the butter did not even melt. The pork bellies was cold when it eventually reached us. The pork belly was hard - it scrathed my throat and I had an irritated throat the whole evening there after. I ordered salad but had to request salad dressing. It felt 'forced' when you requested us to write reviews on Google Reviews. You'll even 'show us how'. I had a difficult day - stop bugging me. Go away and leave me be. I only wished to have a warm, peaceful meal. But your restaurant did not meet ANY of this criteria.

The best part of the evening? The friendly car guard. He gets 5 stars. Relish Bistro - 1 star.

I am very disappointed in my...

Beautiful venue and set up ,but terrible food and equally lousy service.I arrived at happy hour and when I ordered I was handed two drinks without warning and I asked to exchange my additional juice for water rather ,and I was told that when you order a pig ,you get a pig and I can’t be swapping around drinks.I really wish I could have been warned of this because I couldn’t even drink the second glass of juice because it was just too much and had I known, would I have ordered a drink that could allow for me to select a drink that would be suitable for their special. And to add fuel to injury,I discovered the second juice has gone off when I attempted to drink it,the drink was fizzy,so even if I wanted to drink it I would never have been successful in doing so. Then on the part of the food,oh my word,I ordered crumbled chicken and chips ;and what a disappointment for such a simple meal. The chicken breast and the crumbed coating just couldn’t stay together. Every time I would cut the chicken the counting would just fall off and stay on my plate, and in the end the plate was covered in dried up coating. And when the plate was collected by the waiter ,I was asked if I want a take away😱😱I really was shocked cause all that was left on the plate was crumbed coating. These guys need to pull up their socks cause the experience wasn’t...

Arrived early around 8h39 before they opened the Bistro. Setting up of outside tables and ambrellas was quick and clean. My table was setup under the trees and the cool breeze was so inviting. I had some breakfast close to English breakfast with well two mugs of steaming coffee. And on a lighter note, after enjoying this sumptuous meal, I nearly injured myself while taking photos. I moved my chair too much back from my tabled and actually toppled over as I reached the end of the little brick stage constructed under the trees I was sitting under. Anyway the were no injuries and an incident not for the restaurant. All in all the attention is good and swift due to the kind Waitresses. The restaurant is butted against a green and leafy garden one can strall through or sit in on the numerous garden benches in supply and actually doze the meal away under shades of trees and chirps from domestic birds. A lovely family and occasion rendezvous. I knew the place while it was called Dros but now it's called...

This Bistro has got a proper makeover since the last time I was there. The style and vibe is still very much a bistro with a look and feel of an 1800's pub in the UK/Germany with a modern flair. I had a simple breakfast of ciabatta with basil pesto, scrambled eggs and mozzarella cheese. The basil pesto was lacking in quantity and punch and the mozzarella was minimal, but it was still good. The cappuccino was fantastic though! One of the best cups of coffee I've had in ages! The outdoor play area and seating looks like it will be fantastic on a nice sunny day. I'm looking forward to being back soon.

The place itself is great, has a great atmosphere. You'll enjoy your time there. The drinks are very refreshing and the meat on the menu is delicious, however we ordered 4 pizzas for take away, the pizzas were a disappointment. They were too thin, the crust is burned, had a lot of air pockets. 2 of the flavors we ordered were Rib and Mexicano, those were the only appetizing ones. The rib pizza was just the base with ribs placed on top, I mean we literally take the ribs off and eat them separately due to the bones inside them. The Mexicano was a disaster, the ingredients were not up to standard

Great little spot! Biggest draw is the AMAZING child focus. From menu to cutlery to jungle gym to child minders. Food is good and menu intriguing. Loved the little quips on the pages. Good for a giggle! Service was a bit slow. Had to call someone every time we needed something but service was friendly and professional. Only bad thing is the state of Springbok Park. I'd strongly recommend putting up a reed screens to wall it off or planting a row of hedges. As great as Relish is, it almost feels unsafe and really detracts from having a good time. Will most definitely be back!
