Play, Learn, Discover: The Children's Museum of the National Folk Museum of Korea Nestled within the grounds of the National Folk Museum of Korea, the Children’s Museum (국립민속박물관 어린이박물관) is a vibrant, hands-on wonderland designed specifically for young explorers. This isn't your typical "look-but-don't-touch" museum; it's a dynamic space where kids (and adults, let's be honest!) can dive deep into Korean culture and history through interactive play. My visits here are always filled with the joyful sounds of discovery. The museum cleverly translates complex cultural concepts into engaging activities, allowing children to experience traditional Korean life firsthand. They can try on mini hanbok, play traditional games, or even "cook" virtual Korean dishes. The exhibits are beautifully designed, colorful, and highly interactive, captivating young minds and sparking curiosity about Korea's rich heritage. It’s a perfect blend of education and entertainment, ensuring that learning is an adventure rather than a chore. If you're traveling with kids in Seoul, or simply looking for a fun and educational activity, the Children's Museum is an absolute must-visit. It offers a fantastic opportunity for families to learn and play together, creating lasting memories while exploring the fascinating traditions of Korea. It's a testament to how museums can be lively, engaging spaces...
Read moreI was here with my kids and family while visiting Seoul. Like many other childrens museum, we knew we needed to book and it was great. There were sets in different background and digital play area and plenty of space, somehow it was not busy at all.
And while staying, I noticed one of staff were staring at some other asian background kids playing in one area. The staff seemed very angry and annoyed, and giving very stinky look on this children. My partner and i noticed and looked at the staff because we didn’t know what was going on. Then she signed and yelled at children to shut up! She was so angry she didn’t care about us watching. And i saw her way out of reception again she acted like normal person. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.
There were other korean children(and mine) running around but it didnt bother her, only the other asian background children got the anger from this staff. And i know what i saw, they weren’t loud or disturbed no one else.
Excuse me, if you don’t have ability to speak gently, or have patience or A RACIST working in the childrens museum in The most tourist spot in Seoul, please QUIT! Please educate your staff for such aggressive behaviour. It’s fine to get angry or annoyed but learn how to express yourself around the children. I have been to many childrens museum in Seoul, and only museum with such unprofessional staff. Very...

If you don't read Korean, have google translate ready. Only qualm is they don't have any instructions or ideas at the art table. I looked up how to make Ddakji with the paper they had there and made a bunch to play with family, and the Kid just vibed with the supplies to make a good luck tree kid learned about from another museum talking about Tēt specific lunar new year celebrations !? There were phones near there but we couldn't see the ideas.
Like all of the children's museums in Korea there are timed and time limited entry. And here there's a very small number of tickets hourly so definitely get tickets early (maybe ask your concierge if you don't have a Korean phone number bc there's only a Korean...
