If you're traversing the walls of the sprawling, C18th, UNESCO Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, you undoubtedly pass through Paldal Park. The historic walls have been very well-preserved and maintained as has the fortress in general, and in many places and incorporated into city life. In some places in the fortress you can almost feel like you're not in the city, and that is true here in Paldal Park with its many tress and some distance from the road.

A bit far away from seoul, about one and half hour by subway. It is a historical site surrounded by all modern structures which is built nowadays. It is quite and full of culture, also it has the best view to see Suwon city if you climb up the walls. If there's plenty of time, the Paltal-gongwon is a place worth visiting.
