The Hwasong Fortress is a decent relatively long hike (if you are planning to hike the entire length of the fortress wall). Admission is only 1,000₩ so it is cheap. It will easily take you a couple hours if not longer to complete. There are only a few portions of the wall that may be difficult for some (locations with stairs and relatively steep incline). Highly recommend bringing water. Especially during the summer (or any hot day). There are resting points along the wall and on the west side there is also a bathroom and snack shop. The northern section of the wall (North Gate) has a CU convenience store just south of the shop (you will be able to spot it from the North Gate entrance).
