A museum where you can see history of Su-won Hwa-seong Haeng-gung Palace.
You can see historical records of King Jeong-jo the Great and Jeong Yak-yong( who built Haeng-gung) and construction machines from the late Jo-seon Dynasty.
I went without high expectations. But, I was surprised to actually see construction machines in the late Jo-seon Dynasty (mostly invented by Jeong-yak-yong, a sil-hak scholar and a governer who worked for King Jeong-jo in the late Jo-seon Dynasty) that moved heavy stones to build Hwa-seong Haeng-gung, named Geo-jung-gi and Nok-roh in the museum garden.
As you enter the building, On the first floor, there is huge diorama of Su-won Haeng-gung in the old days (maybe late Jo-seon Dynasty). Looking at the diorama, there are quite a few different parts from these days, so it's interesting to compare them.
When you go up to the second floor, Various historical materials related to Su-won Hwa-seong Haeng-gung, Such as, . Writings and drawings of King Jeong-jo, . Writings and drawings of Prince Sa-do(father of King Jeong-jo, but did not success to heir the crown to be King of Jo-seon), . Diorama that reproduce the process of King Jeong-jo's march from Seoul to Suwon Hwa-sung to visit the tomb of his father, Prince- Sado. . Diorama that reproduce Hwan-gap-yeon, (the 60th birthday) of King Jeong-jo's mother, Hye-gyeong-gung-Hong, seemed to show the appearance of the time very well.
In addition, part of Hwa-seong Haeng-gung Ui-gwe (the plans and blueprints for the Hwa-seong Haeng-gung Palace) is also on display.
It was educational and interesting because it was possible to see how well were written the records of Hwa-seong Haeng-gung in the late Joseon Dynasty.
Admission is currently free due to COVID-19 these days. It will be around 3,000 won for an adult, if normal season comes.
If you come and visit Su-won Hwa-seong Haeng-gung, I recommend seeing this place at least...

You can expect to spend around 1 hour exploring the exhibits, which provide a well-curated overview of the fortress's significance and the architectural innovations of the time. While much of the architecture within the museum is a remake, it effectively helps visitors understand the historical context and importance of Suwon Hwaseong. The displays are engaging and provide valuable insights into King Jeongjo's vision and the fortress's role in Korean history. Overall, it's a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in learning more about this...
