This was my favorite part of the entire fortress wall, although to really see it properly, you're going to want to see it from atop the wall, outside the wall, and inside the wall.
Inside the wall there is a stream which provides fantastic photo opportunities with the reflections in the water. It looks really impressive from the inside. From the outside it looks so unassuming compared to the inside, but it's still really cool. On top you have views of gates/towers on either side.
Definitely check out this section of the wall, it is pretty awesome. To the southwest you can find most of the more iconic sites, while as you head to the northeast the sites will get less and less impressive. But this place was the pinnacle of the Hwaseong...

Northern Watergate (Hwahongmun Watergate) The Norther Watergate, also knownas Hlwahongmun, Was built atop Suwoncheon Stream, the main stream flowing through Hwaseong Fortress. It has seven stone arches, with the middle arch being wider than the others to emphasize the center of the entire structure. On each end of the bridge is an octagonal stone pillar topped with a statue ofa mythical, dragon-like creature called imgi in Korean. Atop the arches, a stone bridge was built so that people could cross the stream, and a wooden pavilion was added on the top of the bridge. This watergate was destroyed by floods and rebuilt several times. The current structure was built in 1932, and its wooden doors were repaired in 2016.
