The botanical gardens was situated behind the National Museum, which has stairs and escalators up to the top if you are coming from the Metro stop Espanya. The botanical garden however was not advertised and I did not know it existed until I was outside the entrance to the gardens itself and since it was behind the museum, you may miss it. It's a nice, quiet yet small gardens with seating areas situated throught and a drinking fountain near the entrance. There were parakeets in the trees as well providing some nice photo opportunities. The botanical gardens were free entry however I did visit in January so it may change during the summer to profit from tourism. Even during the winter the weather is still viable for a botanical visit and you may see different plants that do not grow in the summer or spring. The gardens are situated in a nice area with plenty of picturesque views from inside and around the botanical gardens boundaries. The nearby attractions are also brilliant if you are planning a tourist route around the area including the National Museum, Sports Arena, the Bull ring Are an now a shopping centre and the magic fountains on a night which are only available during certain days and times...

Its behind MNAC which is normally buzzing with people so if you need time out in the cool and need some peace, go check it out. For the plant enthusiast there are some rare plants here too. Different areas beautifully canopied by some of Barcelonas biggest trees.

Some teenagers were playing a board game on the grass... so there was us two, two others and the 4 playing the board game. I loved this place. I could...

Many little paths to walk, there is an app you can download and enjoy the immersive experience. Plants and trees are well signed. There are small allotments and a house. I found this such a beautiful place to visit, especially if you want to leave the hustle and bustle...
