Tapa Tapa Xiringuito — Restaurant in Barcelona

My friends and I unfortunately received the worst possible service from Tapa Tapa on Monday 12th August around 9:30pm. It’s quite sad as it’s our first time in Spain. Unfortunately, it took our server over 20 minutes to come take our order. Then, we ended up being served by a man (who might be the manager - not too sure), Sergi Gomez. The reason he served us is because I told him that we were still waiting to be served and our original server didn’t seem to want to take our order. He then took our order and everything was fine. The food also took over 40 minutes to come to our table. Then, as our food started to arrive, the original server slid a plate of food to my friend in an aggressive way and stormed off. We were so shocked at such disrespectful behaviour as we’ve never had that happen to us before. Very very shocking. As we were paying for the bill, we asked not to pay the 10% IVA, which we thought was service charge because the service was not up to our standards. The man explained that it’s not a service charge, it’s just tax (VAT). He started to use aggressive behaviour when we told him that the service was not good and how we waited long for our food. Instead of being apologetic, he said “well we’re busy so that’s the service.” I asked for his name because he was being very rude and he refused to give it. He then told me to f off and walked off without giving us our receipt, which was asked for several times. If this man is the manager, then wow. Such disgusting behaviour from a person who didn’t do a good job. If I could, I would give this restaurant a rating of -10 because it was atrocious behaviour and the man who used expletives towards my friends and I should be very ashamed of himself. We will not...

Duarte is an exceptional employee at Tapa Tapa! From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile by Duarte. He provided outstanding customer service throughout my dining experience.

Duarte's knowledge of the menu was impressive. He was able to answer all of my questions about the different dishes and made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. His attention to detail and willingness to accommodate special requests was truly commendable.

Not only was Duarte attentive and efficient, but he also had a genuine passion for ensuring that guests had a memorable dining experience. He consistently checked in on our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued.

His professionalism and positive attitude were infectious. Duarte's enthusiasm for his work shone through in every interaction, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for everyone in the restaurant.

Overall, Duarte's exceptional service at Tapa Tapa left a lasting impression on me. His knowledge, attentiveness, and genuine care for the guests truly elevated my dining experience. I highly recommend Tapa Tapa, and a significant part of that recommendation is thanks to the outstanding service...

First I ordered 2 medium beers, we got 2 small. I told the waitress and she said we have an other round of small beers for free and we pay one medium instead of two small. Just let them know when we want it. When I asked the second round she told me she cancelled the medium and we need to pay what we got. I said ok. Weird. In the bill we saw 4 small and one medium. I needed to tell them again what was the case. Awful service. I needed to ask for the ashtray 3 times. The quality of the food is poor. Small portions and expensive. I found a seed in the olive bowl, I just hope it was not the mix of new and waste. Most probably you can find an other place with lower price and/or better food and service. One of the waiter was a bit rude, who served the dishes. The indoor area did not seem clean I rather let my hand dry by the wind. The hand dryer was dirty and moldy.
