Take a good look at the prices! I visited El Colmao in October 2022 on recommendation because, as a wine enthusiast, I was looking for good wine to buy in Frigiliana. El Colmao is a good wine bar with competent staff and I was also able to buy good wine that I hadn't drunk yet. Unfortunately, the pricing is very questionable: I bought a Tadeo 2019 (Sierras de Malaga - Petit Verdot) at a price of €49.80- can buy online for €38; a Faula Mitarte for €26.00; a Nabal Crianza for €30.00- can buy online for €19.90; a Badman Wines Syrah (Sierras de Malaga) for €23.50- available online for €14.00. In total, I bought wine for 200 €, which I can buy online for 150 €. Of course, you have to cover running costs, but this does not justify this price premium by far. Especially as it can be assumed that at least the wines from Malaga can be bought cheaply from the winegrower. The pricing is bordering on usury and I feel like I'm being taken for a ride.

Best wine bar in town and most likely in the region. One of our most loved places in the world. Take the food and wine tasting if you are up for an experience - don’t expect big servings as it’s about fine taste and dining. Don’t expect cheap wine as it’s about quality and absolutely worth it! I am almost reluctant to review it as we want it all for ourselves 😜 We count ourselves as one of their oldest customers - with pride ☺️

Such a charming little place! Had a really nice wine tasting evening here, loved the wine and the food that went with it. (More than enough wine, felt it the next morning 😅) Would absolutely recommend it. Very nice staff as well, they helped us get a taxi back to Nerja and let us sit and relax with a complimentary glass of wine while we were waiting. Thank you for a lovely evening! 😊

My wife and I were on our honeymoon in Spain last week. We visited Frigiliana and happened upon El Colmao by accident. We were warmly greeted by the owner, who welcomed us and set us up with a table on the street. The owner was knowledgeable about wine and very kind. As the evening wore on and the tables emptied, he came and sat at our table and made small talk with us for about an hour. It was one of our favorite experiences of our honeymoon. To be treated so warmly and to be drinking such delicious wine, was a perfect way to spend a late evening in Spain....

The ownwer Juanama took 5 of us on a tour all day a good 6hrs visiting a winery tapas and a visit to Nerja finishing off in his beautiful village frigalena and fabulous wine bar were we were treated to the most amazing wines and food he certainly knows his stuff. He definatley went the extra mile to keep informed and entertained the whole day, with no rush even though he was leaving for his own holiday that evening . (Hope you and your wife had a lovely holiday) cant recommend El Colmao enough a must visit when...
