Restaurante El Mirador in Frigiliana is a true hidden gem, made even more special by the scenic walk to get there. Winding through the charming old streets, surrounded by whitewashed buildings and stunning vistas, the journey itself is part of the experience. And when you arrive, the reward is immediate—the restaurant boasts breathtaking panoramic views of the city, making it an unforgettable dining spot.
To start, we enjoyed a selection of drinks, including refreshing peach and cava sangrias, a deliciously smooth coffee cocktail, and a vibrant fruit drink that was bursting with fresh flavors. Each sip complemented the relaxed, picturesque setting perfectly.
For food, I had the veggie ravioli, which was delicate and flavorful, with a nice balance of fresh ingredients. Others at our table ordered a beautifully prepared sea bass with chimichurri, a hearty dish of sausage and potatoes, and a well-seasoned mackerel dish. While everything was delicious, the standout was definitely the sea bass—the flaky, tender fish paired with the herby, zesty chimichurri was simply outstanding.
The staff at El Mirador were just as lovely as the setting, adding warmth and hospitality to an already perfect atmosphere. Dining on the patio, taking in the sweeping views, felt like a moment to truly savor.
After our meal, we took a different route down, revealing new perspectives of Frigiliana with every turn. The combination of incredible food, breathtaking scenery, and charming ambiance made this an unforgettable experience—one that's absolutely...
Read moreAt 4.30 in the afternoon the place was almost empty. I thought I'd stop for a coffee and sparkling water as it was hot. Despite being empty they wouldn't serve me unless I ordered something to eat. Obviously they can't rip you off as much if you don't eat. The location is great ... but then again it's rubbish if they don't allow you to sit there. These people obviously have too much money from the hoards of tourists who visit the town and can't be bothered to offer a decent service. The town is quite nice but I've seen plenty of other white, Andalusian villages which are better. MY ADVICE... Take a bottle of water and sit on the public bench. Same view and you save €20 by not ordering food you don't want. PERHAPS ON YOUR SIGNS SHOWING DIRECTIONS YOU CAN ADD "FOOD ONLY.. WE DON'T SERVE DRINKS." In answer to your replies .... Regarding my comments on the very few other places I've written about ... Perhaps I have higher standards than you and expect a minimal level of service. There is a saying in business which perhaps you haven't heard ... "The customer is always right." Not true on some occasions but this time my comments are spot on. STOP ADVERTISING YOUR RESTAURANT DOWN IN THE TOWN IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF SERVING THEM WHEN...
Read moreWe had a lovely meal here and it’s a beautiful place to sit! Most of the staff were very friendly, but there was one waiter we didn’t find particularly kind.
On our way to the restaurant, my mother almost fainted and needed a moment to recover when we arrived. My father went to the pharmacy to get her some medicine so she would feel better. During that time, we were asked at least four times if we were ready to order. One waiter even told us we really had to order now because there were other people waiting. We explained that we were just waiting for our father to return. He was gone for no more than 10 minutes, and as soon as he came back, we were told we had to order right away, even though he hadn’t even had a chance to look at the menu yet.
We found this a bit disappointing, as it didn’t give us the relaxed feeling you expect when dining out and spending quite a bit of money. Money isn’t an issue for us, but we really value the overall experience.
All in all, it was definitely a nice place to eat, and most of the staff were friendly. However, the expectation to order within five minutes of arrival felt a bit rushed, which...
