By far the worst meal of our holiday.
Firstly, the pros: The location is nice, and gives a good view. This is clearly the factor the restaurant relies on. This where the pros end.
Now the cons: Menu is bewildering. Menu presented is in a totally different format to the one displayed on the outside of the restaurant. Additionally, dishes seemed to be coming out that weren't even on the menu. Perhaps you need to be a local to order these? Food is extremely overpriced. 6 anchovies by themselves for 16.50! Drinks overpriced. We ordered sangria at every restaurant we visited on our holiday. Not only was no jug of sangria available (i.e. just available by the glass), but each glass was overpriced and by far the wateriest we'd had: and this includes the pre packaged sangria available at Mercadona! Not really sure you can rely on the descriptions of the food: The "main" of cod with ratatouille was a meagre piece of cod, on what was more like a serving of gazpacho. If this base ever was ratatouille at some point, it must have been pureed into oblivion first before being presented. Toilets left something to be desired: not in the best condition, and had no soap. No toilet paper in the women's toilet. Service was appalling. Not only unfriendly, but slow. We waited - and this will sound like I'm exaggerating, but I assure you I am not - nearly 45 minutes for the bill after requesting it. Our party got so fed up of waiting that the non payees from our group just got up and started to walk round the nearby gardens. Music blasting out from a speaker near our table was so loud that we did wonder if we had walked into a club at one point.
This is a location that relies on it's good view. It's pretentious and overpriced, with a touch of arrogance about it. The clientele all look like they have disembarked from their yachts, and perhaps that accounts for the prices and dismissive treatment we (non yacht owners) received. Thankfully for us, this experience was so bad it became a source of great hilarity for the rest of the holiday, with the restaurant given the nickname...
Read moreWe got some nice tapas but kitchen closed early 9pm and half our order wasn't served. Then they told us after it was too late to go anywhere else that they had run out.
Reply to owner: hi, no mistake. We were at Pura Cepa Frigoliani last night. We had a reservation for 8:30. Server was quite slow to take our order and then advised that we had to order quickly as kitchen was closing. A number of menu items were not available but we made a good selection. The dishes we received were high quality and we ordered another glass of wine while waiting for our remaining order. But then the Server started to clear our table and when we queried where the rest of our order was he apologized for having forgotten to tell us that they were also out of the two remaining dishes. Quite disappointing as at that stage it was too late to go somewhere else in...
Read moreNice food, drinks and view. However one of the waiters was extremely aggressive before we even spoke to him. Was a bit bizarre so once he initially left the table, we brushed it off as perhaps he was a little stressed. Despite our politeness though, he doubled down. Completely ruined our lunch by the end of it; sarcastic, short, even shouted at my mother-in-law at one point for being too quiet when ordering (the music was very loud outside.) We also over-heard several other guests complain about how aggressive he was and how uncomfortably loud the music was. I've been here several times over the years, but surely hhe manager is aware that hiring angry people will only damage their business in the long run? Think I'll go elsewhere...
