FEMALE BE AWARE. I stayed in a 6-bed female only. The receptionists was a Moroccan young men. He told us he could show us the town. He offered to go out to a pub later. He continued to ask another hostel girl guest for her location. Then he sent us a pin with his location (it appeared to be in the middle of the bridge). We (2 girls) ended going back to the Hostel; he insisted on going out. Turns out it was a small club with bad music and hardly any people that charges 10 Euros and it includes a 1-drink. He told us a fake story that his mother inherited the building. That he was in the French Mafia and that he he been shot. We (girls) didn’t like it there. He got upset when the other girl too a selfie of all of us and later tried to take her phone when she was talking a video of the city. We tried to go on our own without him and he just would not get the hint. We (girls) ended going to Casino Bar because he said he would not go in there and pay another 20 Euros. Turns out he lied and it was free to get in. When we got back to the hostel he was waiting for us behind the door. We got startled and he got upset saying one of us to loud and he said if were not happy he would gladly give us the money for us to leave. (Power trip). When I said I would leave (it was 2 am and went to grab my things… he went to the room and apologized. He thought it was okay to hold my arm to show authority and make me stay and I told him to let me go and not to touch me. Then He thought the other girls was filming (she wasn’t) so he became angry and started threatening to call the police and told her she had to leave. The true owner was notified; however, he was too busy to come or take a call. I went to another hostel the next day. Upon checking in to the next hostel I noticed he kept my passport. I went back and got it back. I cut my trip short because it’s a small town I didn’t feel safe to be on my own (solo traveler). This bed and breakfast place is an older building with affordable furniture. The place itself could use maintenance that would really make a difference. The room did not have outlets, so they put an multi-plug electrical extension that was for all 6 beds and for two small heaters (seemed a bit of...
Read moreThere was no one at reception when I arrived at 5pm. Had to wait 30minutes and I could see into the dorms. Using the card machine, the Receptionist charged me in pounds rather than Euros (despite me telling him it must be Euros) so my bank charged me additional costs. Security is really bad at the hostel. The front door is always open which means anyone can enter the building. The room doors are also always open so anyone has access. My dorm had a balcony which was connected to another dorm - anyone could walk between both dorms. So I requested a locker which turned out that someone else in the dorm had the keys to the same locker where my passport and money were. Customer service is a joke here. The bathrooms are breaking down, the floors are dirty, the kitchen is dirty with no equipment, the breakfast is basic but items are missing like bowls, cups, bread, sugar. And staff are nowhere to be found. My food was also stolen from the kitchen fridge. There is an old lady that basically lives in the hostel and sleeps on the sofas, walks around in all the rooms, uses any bathroom she wishes. There are ALOT of things that need to be improved at...
Read moreHad a bad experience, especially with the staff. When I arrived they didn't hear the bell so I called with the phone. The person at the reception said I pushed the wrong one but 100% sure I pushed the right one( because after calling and ringing again it worked). Anyway he said I was the one that was wrong. I didn't really care to much. Then in the morning the breakfast pretty much sucked (like in many hostels) but it could be worse. The cleaning lady was also very rude. Like demanding Ii go upstairs to wash my hand while there was like a tap 2 meters away in her kitchen. But ok.... The rooms where clean and the location was good (close to the center). A few days later I passed by and saw the man of the reception. We were talking and a girl came by then he said to her he was original from Girona when in fact he told me he was from Tunisia. So I said he told me something else and he was like "do you call me a liar?" In a threatening way.. I said no but it tought you said something else to me and then he said "I'm going to kick you". I think Fonze was he's name. So had bad experience with...
